It wasn’t what I expected. First the appetizers we ordered the Art Noveau for two and tuna Tartar. The only thing I didn’t care for was the shrimp covered in peanuts. They ruined such prized beautiful shrimp by putting peanuts on them. Main course pasta with Sea Urchins. The waiter never told me the sea urchins were from Croatia. That’s a very important piece of information. If I knew this I wouldn’t have ordered it. Sea urchins in Sicily make a beautiful creamy yellow sauce. This sauce was a dark brown had a fishy taste to it and was bland. I left the whole dish didn’t eat it. The pasta with the spigola was tasty and so was my daughter’s octopus. The spigola for two in salt. It was overcooked. The fish had a powdery consistency when chewing on it. The outside of the fish was moist but inside was dry and overcooked. Overall I left disappointed. The service wasn’t nothing to brag about for a place of this caliber. I spent over 300 euros because I’m a nice guy and always leave a tip when I’m in Europe. Definitely not worth the price point. I’ve learned that the more expensive the restaurant is, the less is the quality of the food and...
Read moreI really don't like leaving negative reviews. In fact I never do (truly I'm not just saying this) because I know the effect they can have an a business. However I think people should get a glimpse of the restaurant before coming here to spend a ton of money for subpar quality food. How can you be a in a region with an absolute surplus of olive oil and have food this bland at exorbiant prices. I don't think there was a grain of salt on any dish. It's also criminal to call an appetizer red prawns then get 4 pieces of the tail of a prawn that is barely bigger than a finger nail. I would have also rather been spared the "mixed greens" under my octopus as it was just that. Mixed green with nothing on them and majority of the leaves were rotten. Also a lobster pasta dish in which it requires you to crack your own lobster with your hands? Trying to make food into something "artistic" is the downfall of dining. Put something on the late that is worth eating and priced fairly. 45 minutes between starters and mains is a no for me as well. Rest assured this is an honest...
Read moreI went to Art Nouveau restaurant for a joint 40th birthday (mine) and 50th wedding anniversary celebratory dinner and I really loved my experience here. The restaurant is located in a beautiful historic building overlooking the sea. Whilst finding a parking space isn’t the easiest of tasks, the dining experience will more than make up for it: we sat in the modern and tastefully decorated indoor area and we chose to let the chef treat us with a good dining experience. This comprised a selection of seafood starters out of which the seafood parmigiana and the truffle balls were my favourites! We also had an amazing seafood risotto and gorgeous spaghetti with lobster. We also had sparkling wine however we didn’t try the dessert because we brought our own cake which was delicious. Highly recommend this place for any special occasion or if you want to treat yourself as it’s a little on the...
