Come for the View. Stay for the Straberries. Don't miss the Boar The incredibly small hamlet of Nemi, located south-east of Rome, dominating its homonymous volcanic lake from above like an eagle, is probably the last place where you'll expect to find something particular. You are completely wrong. With less of 2000 souls, this surprising place hosts every year the Strawberries Festival, usually held at the end of May / beginning of June. Here you'll be able to find a wide variety of drinks and dishes made with the local strawberries, of which you'll be able to admire the massive crops all around the lake. Just few hundreds of meters outside the historical center, you'll easily find the restaurant "Il Ramo d'Oro" (The Golden Branch). Once parked the car, go down 72 (seventy-two!!!) steps to reach the main hall. No elevator nor stairlift. Owners of strollers and wheelchairs are advised. The very cozy environment, thanks to a wise placement of the furnitures, will give you a warm welcome, as well as the very friendly staff. Beyond the main hall you'll immediately notice the not-so-small terrace, closed by sliding glass walls. A great choice, that will allow you to admire comfortably the marvellous view of the lake, even on rainy days. The seats are quite limited if you want to enjoy it, therefore book it or lose it. Massive thanks to the owner to manage to squeeze in a small table for me and my wife at the last moment. Time to browse the menu. Usually, in this kind of restaurants, the privileged position adds a surchange on the meal. I'm happy to tell you that here is not like that. The portions are abundant, and the price fair. A very good quantity/price ratio. Truly excellent the Boscarelli (dumplings full of ricotta and porcini mushrooms, covered in the analog sauce), as well as the Boar accompanied by roasted potatoes. Shining among the desserts, Tiramisù with wild strawberries. You simply cannot miss it. Special mention for the coffee. Among almost a hundred between cafè and restaurants i've visited in Rome and nearby cities, this marks the 4th place where the coffee is NOT burned. Thank you very much for this. Unfortunately, no dedicated craft beer, but only the standard classic Peroni. I hope they'll include one or two in the future. Completely unexpected the low quality of the house wine. Both Red and White. I truly recommend the owner to improve this aspect. It's been the only negative point in an extremely good lunch. If you are staying in Rome for your trip, depending by the zone you're in, it can take even 1 hour to reach Nemi by car, but the experience is definetely worthy of a visit. Enjoy the view........... and the...

An Italian friend recommended this restaurant to me so we came as a day trip from our holiday in Rome to check it out as a possible wedding reception venue. As soon as we walked around Nemi we fell in love with it. The restaurant is beautifully situated on the side of the lake with stunning views. We organised the wedding menu with the owner and they were very accommodating and it was so easy. They allowed us to decorate the space and play our own music on the day. The food was delicious. We had an aperitif on the balcony overlooking the view with antipasti, a beautiful selections of meats and cheeses. Then a wild mushroom and a meat ragu pasta all freshly made. There was a meat selection of wild boar and a parmigiana for vegetarians served with roasted potatoes. There was flowing house wines, prosecco and lemoncello and coffee to finish the meal. Nemi is known for its strawberries and they did two different deserts for us. Both delicious! The portions were large and the prices were fair (alot cheaper than Rome). Lots of my guests raved about the food and how good it was. We had such a good experience with this restaurant, the owner and some of the chefs came out and joined us for a drink and even a dance. Cant recommend this restaurant highly enough, its 1 hour out of Rome and well worth the visit. A beautiful place for a wedding meal and I will never forget the sun setting over the lake as I ate and drank in this beautiful...

In 5 abbiamo pagato €120,50 in totale.
