My wife and I found this absolute gem during our weekend getaway to Sardinia. We could not have been happier with our experience. First, it should be mentioned the restaurant had only been open for 25 days and they are already running to perfection. Fabio (the owner) has created a beautiful space to take advantage of the breathtaking views. Small and intimate describes the space that will seat only 20. The small size allowed for top notch service.
We started with exceptional cocktails; my wife had the cucumber gin spritz, and I had the Kentucky Mule. Both were delicious and refreshing and served in traditional bar ware. (The copper mug and straw for the mule added to the deliciousness!)
To accompany the drinks, the restaurant offered an absolutely delicious apertivo of fresh seafood. This experience alone was worth the trip, and then it just got better with dinner.
It should be noted that the menu changes with the seasons and the availability of seafood. Everything we had was pitch perfect and paired perfectly with the Sardinian white wine that we had. (Speaking of wine, make sure to ask about the rare finds that are not on the wine list.)
At the end of the evening, we were able to meet the chef who Fabio lured away from Milan.
Do yourself a favor and treat yourself to this...
Read moreEverything was fantastic! Plates were beautiful presented and the food was high quality, fresh and surprise in taste. The menu offers multiple creative options with a delicate combination of flavours, textures and traditional touches.
The restaurant is located in a beautiful place that offers a breathtaking panoramic view of the sea and the city. There are many details that gives the place a pleasant elegant look while making you feel comfortable and distinguish this restaurant from many others.
The staff has been very kind and each one of them is super qualified to present you with all the options that the outstanding menu has to offer and help you decide between the many fantastic options.
I highly recommend this Marvelous Restaurant. D’este should be among your top places to visit.
If you are lucky and the owner is around the restaurant, don’t miss the chance to meet him. Fabio is a very interesting and inspiring guy who will share with you his passion for gastronomy and tell you more curious details about his restaurant.
P/d: when you’re having an amazing time and enjoying the moment, there’s no time to take pictures. I’ll try to take some the next time, I hope it...
Read moreWe happened upon Deste by chance, but really glad that we did. We were served a glass of bubbles, an array of seafood delicacies and tasters as an offering from the restaurant, which was an unexpected but great start. The menu was reflective of a Michelin starred restaurant, very inventive and creative, the only downside was there were no vegetarian or vegan options. We were also not offered a drinks or wine menu. That said, the food was outstanding, we had the Roger and the lamb buttons for mains. The Roger won in terms of flavour hands down. What a dish! We finished our meal with a chocolate dessert made from 5 types of South America's finest chocolate/ cacao and it was delicious! To round it off we asked for a shot of limoncello, which we discovered was made by one of the waiting staff and was probably one of the best Limoncello we have sampled anywhere recently! Unfortunately we had to sit outside when it was cold due to a lack of seating indoors, and no blankets were provided even though we asked. This is why we give it a 4 star instead of a 5. Thank you team Deste for a memorable experience overall. Definitely recommend it, but not for vegans or vegetarians or when...
