recent experience at Il Macellaio steak house… was unbelievably disappointing

During my holiday in Sardinia. A friend recommended this stake house establishment, yet it turned out to be one of the worst dining experiences I've encountered in the last decade The service was nothing short of abysmal. We were consistently ignored by the waiter, who seemed too preoccupied with other tables to attend to us properly. This lack of attention was frustrating, as we had to repeatedly call over, only to be told he was busy. Our party of five was clearly the largest table that night, but that did not seem to warrant any extra focus from the staff. Furthermore, the manager's inattention was equally disappointing. When I asked for the bill, it was brought to us from another table, and after I mistakenly paid for that, the manager confirmed it was wrong. I felt extremely uncomfortable being forced to settle the bill again for the correct table, especially after our service had been so poor. Throughout our meal, the table remained cluttered with empty dishes, and not once did the GM approach us to inquire about our experience. It was disheartening to feel neglected when we were simply seeking a pleasant evening out. When we finally voiced our concerns, the waiter responded with a defensive attitude, boasting about his experience instead of addressing our issues. Food quality aside, the service we received was unacceptable. Went here as we felt the need to eat a good steak whilst in Sardinia. We were not disappointed! It’s meat you will eat here and that’s it, but the meat on otter is great quality and they even cook it well done if you ask, not so common in Southern Europe. We had the jamon Iberico as starter and it was top quality, I lived in Spain and I have tried the best. We ordered one fillet well done, was cooked correctly and still very tender. I had the Tuscan T-bone and it was great, super nice flavour and tasty, also cooked perfectly. The staff were great and even the owner engaged in conversation.
