Il borgo — Restaurant in Pachino

We were here for a post wedding lunch. The food was preordered so I’m guessing that should be easier to organise for a larger group. Even though this was the case the weight staff seemed quite upset to have to serve us. If we were to want to ask for more water etc they would run off again before we had a chance to order. We asked if we could have coca colas even though this wasn’t in the set menu but we said we were happy to pay for it. They reluctantly gave us 1 coke. Then when we asked for more they said they ran out which just seems highly doubtful. Some of the food was good but some of it seemed of quite poor quality such as the pasta with aubergine which was maybe made from sauce out of a jar. The pasta was also overcooked which I thought was very strange for a restaurant in Italy! People were forgotten during service and thus received plates after others adjacent to them had already finished theirs. Not what you would expect during an event for about 40-50 people. Again not sure why the staff seemed so frustrated having to deal with a large group as it was pre-booked months in advance. Non ho nulla da dire sulla gentilezza e disponibilità del personale, l'unica cosa su cui mi sento di dire sono i prezzi e il menù che non è molto chiaro. Abbiamo ordinato un crudo di pesce che però aveva poche scelte e allora mi è stato riferito che avremmo potuto ampliarlo e farlo completo aggiungendo una tartare di tonno e delle ostriche (plurale). Arriva questo crudo di pesce, maggiorato di 7 euro rispetto al costo del menù, che conteneva solo 2 ostriche in più, chiediamo della tartare e mi viene detto che mancava (il cliente deve essere avvisato in questi casi! )e che per questo hanno aggiunto un'ostrica in più (quando avevano parlato di ostriche nella proposta iniziale e quindi deduco che fossero più di una già in partenza). Andiamo avanti... Ordino una busiata con pesto alla trapanese e mi arriva un piatto di busiate con del pomodoro cotto, salato, che sembrava passata con molto concentrato di pomodoro e delle mandorle sopra. Io conosco bene il pesto, è un sugo semplice che ho mangiato ovunque e che so per giunta preparare, quindi lascio il piatto delusa, il cameriere gentilmente mi avvisa che il sugo è stato fatto col capuliato, una tipologia di pomodoro secco (non specificato nel menù) con un risultato che di trapanese non aveva nulla, mancava il basilico e pure l 'aglio almeno al sapore. Ho postato qui anche la foto per far vedere. Mi chiede se voglio aggiungere qualcosa dato che avevo lasciato il piatto. Rifiuto gentilmente e il cameriere scompare, non ci porta neanche il conto lui né ci saluta quando andiamo via, della gentilezza iniziale neanche l'ombra solo perché mi sono permessa di rifiutare un piatto fatto male e non corrispondente alla ricetta originale. Arriva in conto senza nemmeno 1 euro di sconto per una loro mancanza. Aggiungo che il piatto che generalmente prevede pomodoro, aglio, basilico e mandorle, è un piatto povero ma costava quanto quello della persona che era insieme a me che aveva ordinato delle busiate con zucchine, primo sale e scampi. Qual' è il razionale??? Prezzo di partenza di 16 euro per un semplice piatto di pasta con pomodoro e mandorle sopra?! Segnali inoltre che i Vini del locale che generalmente trovo in giro a molto meno in questo posto si pagano almeno 5-6 euro in più. Capisco che è un posto turistico quindi non hanno interesse a fidelizzare un cliente che vedono una volta sola ma esistono le recensioni. Un po' di umiltà in più non guasterebbe. Sadly disappointed. The outdoor seating area is stunning, in front of the beach. The food was a mixed bag—some dishes were okay, but others, like the calamarata with clams and peas, were tasteless and nearly served in a broth. The biggest issue was the understaffed service; the two waitresses did an excellent job at keeping up but were clearly overwhelmed. Overall, the dining experience feel rushed and uncomfortable. This wasn't even a busy Saturday night, but just a Tuesday in August. Considering the mismatch between location/prices and food/service I would recommend eating somewhere else.
