I found this place on the Happy Cow app. I have been in Palermo for work and it has been so hard to find places that have vegan options mixed among non-vegan options. This place has breakfast for everyone. I ordered a lot because felt like had no nutrition in my body from yesterday's failed hunt for vegan food. The people here speak English and have an English menu.
I ordered vegan avocado toast, vegan fruit bowl, a vegan pressed juice, and a vegan iced latte with soy milk. The Avocado toast was delicious! It has beautiful pink beet "mayonnaise" on it that looks so pretty with the green mashed avocado. The diced tomatoes were so fresh on top and I really appreciated the bit of salad as well. I always love leafy greens. There was also sliced avocado on top with olive oil drizzled over it. It was easy to cut into small bites with my butter knife and then I didn't get my hands messy. It really is the perfect version of Avocado toast. The Vegan fruit bowl was a bowl of fresh diced fruits that was a delicious dessert packed with vitamin C. It has oranges, blueberries, strawberries, kiwis, and pineapple chunks. It was sweet and definitely filled in my sweet tooth so didn't crave getting anything else for dessert. I love when they fruit is fresh too. It tastes juicy and ripe. For the cold pressed juice got the "Sunny" which was a mango based juice. That is also very sweet, but feels light. It was a lot like drinking orange juice with a mango overtone. It was the perfect refreshing drink to pair with the avocado toast and a great way to start the day. This also had tons of vitamin C. I love soy milk because it is packed with good nutrition from protein to calcium. get it in any coffee can get and I'm happy they had that as an option here for their lattes and other coffees. The latte was perfect! It had a strong espresso flavor and the soy milk doesn't take away from it, but cuts the bitterness out of coffee. The latte was perfect and I wouldn't change anything about it.
I think the only thing I'm missing from all this food is a solid protein choice like a tofu scramble, beans, or an iron heavy salad. But for a spot with vegan options it is worth checking out. I recommend coming here if you are vegan and in Palermo for breakfast, especially if you have non-vegan friends that want to spend time with you in the morning.
Pros: Lots of clearly marked vegan options, Fresh food and drinks, They...
Read moreThe breakfast items and a salad we ordered were delicious. We tried the eggs/bacon/hash combinations and a Caesar salad. The latte macchiato was excellent. The service was a little slow perhaps because of understaffing given the number of guests. However, our server was pleasant with a great sense of humor and good English — very appreciated as my Italian is abominable! Randy’s cheesecake though….the cheesecake was phenomenal. I am used to cheesecake from places like Junior’s (NYC) or Cheesecake Factory (CA) which I’ve never liked because of the heavy texture and/or greasy mouthfeel and sickly sweetness. Randy’s cheesecake is melt-in-your-mouth divine: light yet smooth with a beautifully creamy, even texture and delicately flavoured, on a buttery biscuit crust. The slightly tart berry compote on the top was the perfect counterbalance to the sweet cream. I nearly disgraced myself by licking the plate! They were sadly out of the lemon slice sponge and mascarpone dessert, which I would have loved to have tried. Basically every dish we saw pass by during our dining experience looked amazing and I wish I didn’t live 3K miles away from this delightful cafe! I...
Read moreRun, don’t walk to Randy’s, the best breakfast in all of Palermo. From the moment I walked in, everything from the food quality to the presentation to the service exceeded my already high expectations. The owners, Daniele and his brother Gabriele, are not only warm, professional, and incredibly attentive, they’re also bilingual, making this a must visit for any travelers (or expats) looking for an unforgettable breakfast experience.
I ordered the eggs Benedict with salmon, and I’m not exaggerating when I say it was the best I’ve ever had, and yes, I’ve had many back in the U.S. too. The berry and pistachio French toast was bright, perfectly balanced, and beautifully plated. I’ve never seen American-style bacon or crispy hash browns offered in Palermo until now, and both are available here as delicious, crave worthy side dishes.
Their iced latte is also worth a shout out, bold, smooth, and offered with milk alternatives for anyone dairy-free. I truly can’t wait to go back, and I’m bringing friends next time. A total...
