Pizzeria Via Nova — Restaurant in Peccioli

This place seemed very promising and inexpensive from what I read in the reviews here. Unfortunately our own experience was rather disappointing. The food we got was mediocre and on the low end on the spectrum during our stay in Tuscany. The pizza we had was rather small compared to the norm around here and nothing special in taste. I was quite surprised that apparently a lot of locals here seemed to get pizza for takeaway as the place was quite busy with walk in customers. Not so with dining in.

Our waitress was really friendly and spoke good English, but the woman at the register as we went in to pay was rather stressed and a little rude so I didn’t really dare to ask when the price seemed to high for what we had. I thought that maybe some kind of table fee was added on top, but she didn’t give us a bill to check. As we thought about it later she charged us about 20% over what we expected including tips that are sometimes already included on the bill. That’s definitely on me because I didn’t reaffirm or ask when it seemed to much, but also it seems weird to me to not get a bill automatically, as this seems to be...
