Casa Lizzarola — Restaurant in Peschiera del Garda

Been there in March 2023, for lunch, on Sunday, with my family. I usually don't write negative reviews, but in this case, it wouldn't be fair not to describe our experience. We booked our lunch the day before; our reservation was for 12.30: at 12.15 the restaurant wasn't open yet, so we had to wait outside. We sat down at 12.30, the dining room was cold, since windows and entrance door were open. We asked the attendant to close the windows, but the heating was turned off, so we had to keep our jackets on and asked the attendant to turn the heating on (we were not the only ones with jackets on in the dining room; after half an hour, the temperature was almost acceptable). Service was completely inadequate. We waited 20 minutes for the appetizers and 45 minutes between the appetizers and the first dishes. We asked to cancel the order for the main course, since it was already 2PM when we finished our first dishes. Overall, we waited almost two hours for our appetizer and our two first dishes. Il ristorante Lizzarola è situato a 10 minuti in macchina da Peschiera del Garda, in una zona tranquilla e in campagna, esternamente è una vecchia casa di campagna ristrutturata con attorno molti campi. Vi è un ampio parcheggio all'ingresso caratterizzato dalla presenza ogni due posti auto di un ulivo circondato da fiori, insomma già esternamente promette bene. Il ristorante è suddiviso in 2 zone: zona esterna e zona interna, noi abbiamo provato in diverse occasioni entrambe le zone, in estate la veranda è magnifica: luce soffusa, circondati dal verde e dal legno... Tutto molto romantico; mentre in primavera abbiamo pranzato all'interno, in una saletta privata curata nel minimo dettaglio ma nell'insieme molto rustica come si addice al ristorante. Il menu è molto vario e con piatti invitanti già nella descrizione, super consigliato il loro tagliere di salumi e formaggi, 14 euro ma spesi bene, fate conto che noi lo abbiamo diviso in 2 ed eravamo sazi: prosciutto crudo, pancetta, coppa,salame e cacciatori tutti in quantità più un tagliere con 4 tipi differenti di formaggio con più fette per tipo. Da provare assolutamente la loro fiorentina: divina! Carne tenera e gustosa, davvero molto buona. Ottima anche la tagliata di manzo con olio e sale, squisita! I dolci sono vari e particolari: dal più classico tiramisù o panna cotta fino al loro tortino al peperoncino, davvero molto buono. Il servizio è eccellente, simpaticissimo il cameriere e davvero molto bravo, sono stati attenti alle mie richieste per le alllergie e sempre sorridenti. Posto consigliato anche per gli eventi importanti come cresime, anniversari, comunioni, ecc ecc.... Noi lo abbiamo scoperto proprio così. Se siete sul lago di Garda e volete mangiare bene, allora la trattoria Lizzarola fa al caso vostro. Super...

Cozy atmosphere and friendly staff. The free glass of sparkling wine we got upon arrival was a nice touch. We had appetizer's and two pasta dishes. The balsamico garnish on the sides of the plates felt a bit out of place considering the rustic and genuine feel of the restaurant otherwise, but it did not distract from the food. Tortelloni with radicchio and monte veronese cheese was delicious. Tortelloni with pumpkin and granella di amaretto, however, was way too sweet for our taste.
