Our family of five had an absolutely terrible experience at this restaurant ( L'Osteria ). From the moment we sat down, we were met with cold, unhelpful service that set the tone for a frustrating and disappointing evening.
The initial waiter was unfriendly and unhelpful when we asked for menu recommendations, making us feel rushed and uncomfortable.
This was particularly stressful as the menu was full of local Italian dishes that we were unfamiliar with, despite the English translations.
For drinks, I explicitly asked if they had fresh juices, to which the waiter curtly replied "apple and orange." Naturally, we assumed these would be fresh juices, but what we received were bottled drinks. This was misleading and disappointing.
The real issues began with our main course.
We placed our order for two pizzas, two pasta dishes, a steak, and two appetizers.
While we enjoyed the appetizers, we had to wait over 20 minutes for the main courses. During this time, I asked another waiter for a second cola, which never arrived. When my steak finally came out, the rest of the food did not. I had to signal another waiter, and after some confusion, he brought our original waiter back to address the issue. The waiter seemed surprised and confused about our order, and after another wait, only the pizzas and one pasta dish arrived. The second pasta dish was missing, and it turned out the original waiter had neglected to include it in the order. Although a different, more courteous waiter tried to rectify the situation, the missing pasta dish arrived only after we had nearly finished our meal.
While the food itself tasted good, the entire experience was marred by poor service, long wait times, and order mix-ups. The frustration and tension overshadowed any enjoyment we might have had, effectively ruining our family outing.
Inattentive and cold service, significant delays, incorrect orders, and a general lack of customer care. Save yourself the frustration and dine elsewhere. This restaurant clearly doesn't value its customers or understand the basics of...
Read moreI want to address a review that was made below by 'Axel Erhardt'. A couple of incredibly inaccurate statements made. I was there that evening, firstly you were not waiting '45 minutes' it was 10 to 15 minutes maximum, Secondly your 'simple request' was not possible as the waiter explicitly told you on multiple occasions as it would have blocked the entry to the restaurant had they put the two tables together, the request was not possible and you just did not want to listen. To say that the waiter was aggressive is a total exaggeration. In fact it was you that was aggressive. I would have had the exact same reaction to you had I explained at least 4 or 5 times that your request was not possible, and on multiple occasions your response was 'well why not' and he told again and again it would block the entry. You then proceeded to leave the restaurant were shouting back at the waiter to which yes he did follow you down. I think to put a review up with so many inaccuracy's about your behavior and not the waiters is childish just because you didn't get a seat in a jam packed restaurant
To note this restaurant is 5 stars. The food is incredible and the staff are nothing but friendly. We have eaten here now 3 times in a week and last night when there were no taxis available one of the waiters leaving even offered us a lift back to our hotel.
If you're looking for 5 star service, food, atmosphere and wine this is the...
Read moreL"Osteria provided us an extremally comfortable, clean and top quality accomodation at their apartment above the restaurant level as well as lovely evening during the dinner. The attentiveness of the staff was stunning! They were helpful and even exceeded our expectations despite the full house. The do not allow to make reservations, so before we get the table arranged, prosecco on the house was offered as for their "hotel"guests. Thank you! The service was outstanding: red wine switched into warm one upon request as their standard is to serve it slightly chilled on summer and after dinner time and operation hours, private parking for our 4 bikes was offered in the restaurant. We did enjoy thevdonkey tartare pretty much as well as recommended local wines, however we all four will never be the fans of their specialties: Caesar's salad and fish balls, as they look like more kids menu: a few Romaine salad leafes with a tiny spoon of a tasteless mayonayse was served with chicken nuggets - breaded sliced achicken breast and the 5 pieces of a deep fried fish balls presented rather poor and disppointing with a soft fish flavour. Anyhow, we spend lovely evening and night with the L'Osteria team and as long as you skip their dish specialties, you can fully enjoy...
