Il Ritrovo — Restaurant in Porto Empedocle

The place was recommended by the across-the-street restaurant which was closed for a private event. The staff was very helpful and friendly, easy to talk with as they know a bit of English. Went there for dinner and lunch the next day and the pasta and the pizza it's extremely delicious, it's exactly what you expect when you're thinking of having pizza in Italy, absolutely brilliant. The Tiramisu was the one thing that didn't live up to my expectations, this might have something to do with the fact that I saw the waitress put it in the microwave, which I found odd, other than this everything else was 5 stars!! Wirklich schön gelegen an einem Hotspot für Touristen liegt das Il Ritrovo. Wir konnten an diesem Abend bei guten Temperaturen trotz leichtem Regen draußen sitzen. Den großen Schirmen welche aufgespannt waren sei Dank. Die Einrichtung im Außenbereich ist recht zweckmäßig und ohne besonderen Flair. Für diesen sorgt aber generell die Umgebung, daher war das auch nicht nötig.

Service: Wir hatten mit mehreren Personen im Service zu tun. Im Endeffekt waren alle relativ zurückhaltend und ohne besondere Auffälligkeiten, weder positiv, noch negativ. Das Essen kam jeweils sehr zeitnah nach der Bestellung. Da wir außerhalb der Saison dort waren, waren die meisten Tische allerdings auch unbesetzt. - 3/5

Essen: Für mich eher untypisch habe ich mich an diesem Tag für eine spezielle Pizza entschieden, welche ohne Tomatensoße als Grundlage präsentiert wurde. Der Belag setzte sich aus Büffelmozzarella, Parmesansplittern, Rucola und Schinken zusammen. An keiner der genannten Zutaten wurde gespart. Das war eine äußerst mächtige Portion. Auch der Geschmack war alles in allem gut, allerdings hätte der Pizza eine soßenartige Komponente durchaus noch gut getan. Trotzdem war ich mit meinem Gericht sehr zufrieden. - 4/5

Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis: Dafür, dass wir in einem Touristen-Spot waren, können die Preise noch als in Ordnung durchgehen. - 3/5

Fazit: Die Pizza war gut, der Service und die Ausstattung eher durchschnittlich. Insgesamt wird es kein Restaurant-Besuch sein, der mir längerfristig in Erinnerung bleibt. Soweit aber alles in...

A very tasty pizza. All we get there. First time we ordered Campari Spritz and it was good prepared. Next time get to much ice. For the next round we asked to get less ice. The waiter explained us it isn't possible, because he have to follow the recipe..., later 9ne of us has asked for a ashtray. They brought him it immediately.
