Akademia Cucina and More — Restaurant in Pozzuoli

Akademia combines top class service with a fascinating location. The restaurant is situated on the bank of Lucrino Lake and includes a lovely terrace on the water, from where visitors can enjoy the relaxing view, which changes as daylight shifts to the shadows of the night. We spent a beautiful afternoon at the table in front of the cocktail bar, overlooking the panorama. Both food and drinks were exceptionally executed and presented, with special recipes created exclusively for the location - unfortunately light conditions weren't good for food pictures so I just took a couple, but ingredients' quality and freshness were top-notch. Impeccable service by waiting staff, and a particular mention to the head bar tender Gennaro who presented his original drinks with passion and competence (I had a sour and then a dry cocktail which was served with a souffle rice cake, just mind-blowing). We booked a reservation for 100 people for a company dinner, drawn by the restaurant’s enviable reputation, but unfortunately, the experience didn’t live up to expectations. The location itself was pleasant, but the reserved area was too small to comfortably accommodate our group, leaving the setting crowded. The menu offered a good variety and the dishes were appetising, but the portions were disappointingly small, making the overall experience feel overpriced. Service was professional and courteous, yet noticeably slow, as the staff seemed overwhelmed by the size of our party and struggled to keep up with multiple requests. Che delusione. Veramente non me lo spiego questo trattamento schifoso, per quello che ho pagato poi.

Ho prenotato per la mia festa di laurea in cui saremmo stati sulla ventina e passa di persone e mi dissero che, a seconda del meteo, avrebbero preparato o una zona della sala esterna oppure ci avrebbero messi nella sala interna in fondo. Bene, arriviamo e scopro che nella sala interna promessa c'era già una festa in corso e noi siamo stati "sistemati" lì davanti, di fronte al bar. La sistemazione consisteva in due tavolini bassi, due tavoli rotondi alti e un tavolo MINUSCOLO in cui avrei dovuto mettere tesi, corona, fiori e regali. Un caldo che non si poteva stare, finestre chiuse, climatizzatore inesistente e gente dell'altra festa che passava tra i nostri tavoli perché eravamo in una zona di passaggio. Al che gli chiediamo di spostarci fuori perché non stava cadendo cristo dal cielo, ma c'era una lieve pioggerellina sicuramente più sopportabile del caldo e della gente che passava. Risultato? Ci hanno detto di no, però la spicciolata poteva stare tranquillamente fuori. Ma allora piove o non piove? Come funziona? Allora sinceramente per forza di cose, piano piano siamo usciti tutti fuori automaticamente per via del caldo insopportabile e ci siamo sistemati noi i tavoli con le sedie. Non vi dico la pavimentazione poi, legno letteralmente bucato e sia io che gli altri abbiamo rischiato di cadere tutte le volte per mezzo dei tacchi ma su questo non ho detto nulla perché va bene anche così.

Ma che poi, senza vergogna, mi portate due cazzatine, quasi vi urtate che ci siamo messi fuori autonomamente perché "abbiamo occupato posti" e vi prendete pure 25 euro a persona per un drink che tra l'altro era a scelta limitata e non da menù e non mi è stato detto al momento del preventivo, non mi sta bene. Io ho lavorato nella ristorazione, non sto parlando a caso, e quando c'è una festa si organizza una sistemazione più isolata e decente. Non che metti due tavolini, anche diversi tra loro, in mezzo alla gente. Altrimenti non mi fai pagare 25 euro per avere il NULLA. Allora capirei. Niente di meno hanno anche dimenticato di portarmi la fetta di torta. E ovviamente il tavolo per la torta lo abbiamo sistemato noi.
