Trattoria La Botte — Restaurant in Rieti

Amazing food, even better hospitality. We couldn't decide, so they made a series of sample size dishes of a few of the best. Luckily we got in before it got a little busy for lunch, so we were able to get to talk with the owners. They're so passionate about their food you can taste the love put into each dish. We were brought each dish freshly prepared right after the completion of the prior, we felt like royalty. We were all skeptical about the Ravioli alla Carbonara (ravioli with carbonara sauce inside and guanciale topping), but it was so good I could cry. We had to ask how it's even possible to cook ravioli and the carbonara so perfectly. Basically everything is made in house and fresh to order. They even cure their own meats in the fall, so we'll have to wait. We were blown away by how complete this experience was. They truly made it into a place in my heart (and stomach) forever. An amazing restaurant with regional top-quality food and a welcoming familial atmosphere: It is a hot day and I am starving. In a peaceful street I find Trattoria La Botte. When entering, I am welcomed like an old friend. The interior is stylish and cozy. Then the food. What can I say? I'll try to describe in the most objective manner possible. The appetizers get me going. I want to dance on the table. I taste the sun in the olives and the fire in the grilled tomatoes. Then a plate of Amatriciana comes. This time, I just want to plunge into the plate and bath in it, as if it was a swimming pool. The dessert, a multi-layered creation of cake, is not only the cherry on top of today's experience, but also reflects the multi-layered joys that this journey evoked in me. I normally make it a habit when travelling in Europe to stop into small towns to try the local Trattoria, and today was no exception. Whilst on route to Rome I took yet another detour. This time Rieti and I am glad I did....Food was great 👍 and when I was told I had to wait 10min extra for the shank which fell off the bone well it was worth the wait and I would wait again and again......great work guys keep it up......Cheers from...
