Novecento — Restaurant in Rimini

I had the misfortune of dining here and the experience left me speechless to say the least... We were recommended to eat at this establishment by the concierge at our hotel and were expecting something far better than what we were given. The fish was not fresh and when we were asked by the waiter why we had not eaten our food, the answer we received was that everybody likes it and it's just us who have complained... To clarify, we didn't complain, we were asked what we thought of the dish and why we had left it; to be told indirectly that we should effectively shut up and put up is beyond belief, specially when prices are not cheap and we were still charged for what we had not eaten... As for the rest of the food, the pasta was served lukewarm and within 5mins had gone cold and the tiramisu was beyond doubt the worst I have ever consumed, lacking taste, texture and literally 3 biscuits dipped in coffee gone soggy with a creme which tasted as if it had come out of a ready made custard tin! Avoid this place as the cheaper options on the same strip are soooooo...

Cena di domenica sera, 2 adulti 2 bambini. Arriviamo molto presto, ma con gentilezza ci fanno accomodare con sorriso e cordialità.

Bel locale, sia esternamente che internamente, contemporraneo con richiami al passato.

Ordiniamo pasta al ragù per i bambini, che arriva in tempi rapidi, e questa è una bella cosa. Porzioni forse troppo abbondanti per bambini, è un peccato perchè non amiamo gli sprechi, e quindi rimediamo portando via l'avanzo (vi prego, munitevi di vaschette monouso che si chiudono bene, piutostto che di quelle coperte di stagnola!)

Per noi adulti ordiniamo 2 antipasti (vaporata e carpaccio), e 2 primi (spaghettoni con crema di piselli, vongole, gallinella, e mezzemaniche acqua di pomodoro e tartare di mazzancolle). Antipasti buoni, anche se nel caso della vaporata i gamberi erano avanti di cottura, e mi aspettavo un pò più di varietà nelle salse in abbinamento. Il segato di carciofo servito in accompagnamento onestamente aggiunge poco al piatto, oltre a rendere difficile la degustazione del vino in abbinamento al pesce.

Il carpaccio, buono, sapore deciso per essere un crudo, forse si poteva spingere più con una salsa acida e sapida per bilanciare meglio il gusto importante del pesce.

Primi piatti un vero plus, lo spaghetto con crema piselli gallinella e gamberi molto buono e gradevole, mentre menzione d'onore per la mezza manica Mancini con acqua di pomorodo e tartare. Sapore dolce, fresco, con la nota di basilico a chiudere un vero ottimo primo piatto. Segnalo anche che i primi piatti sono sufficientemente abbondanti.

Servizio piacevole, molto presente, forse troppo per chi preferisce più riservatezza. Ma nel nostro caso, 2 chiacchiere con il personale sono state piacevoli e sincere, durante la cena.

Qualità prezzo buona.

There was a high-frequency annoying noise the whole night, and when we asked the waiter (he was probably the manager/owner) if he can hear it, he said yes and walked away (did nothing). He acted very bad the whole night. Also, nobody spoke enough English, as 3 different waiters almost gave us the receipt because we asked to “check” why our order is 1 hour and 30 minutes late (!). When we received the food, half of the beef was not even cooked (this is coming from someone who loves rare meat), it was so raw it practically couldn’t be cut...
