Osteria io e Simone — Restaurant in Rimini

To this day it was the best restaurant experience we've had. Especially because of the waiter. My girlfriend and I made a reservation via phone. On the phone we were suggested to come a little bit later so the kitchen isn't too busy (we've had a busy restaurant the day before and no one told us, so we waited more than an hour for our entrees). We were welcomed by our waiter in a very friendly manner. He translated the whole menu for us in English, every single dish on the menu. We ordered drinks, entrees and our main course. Our entree was served, cheese and meat plate which were really good. Drinks were served not immediately (though it was no problem for us, as in other restaurants we had to wait really long to get our drinks) and after he noticed he was really sorry for that. The waiter apologized several times for this and even served us something for free additionally to his apologies. Then we had our main course, my girlfriend ordered a special kind of noodles with vegetables and I had an awesome steak. After that we ordered dessert and we kinda fell in love with our desserts. My girlfriend was so happy with her lemon cream with peaches and white chocolate, she nearly ate too much (there were lots of peaches on it). I had chocolate brownies with mascarpone and it was delicious. Then we asked for the receipt. Due to the service we experienced we were so happy, we even had to give a higher tip than usually. Though we told him, the waiter didn't wanted to keep the change, only after we told him, that we felt honored to be served by him. Then he accepted it gratefully. If we hadn't found this place on our last days we would have gone there more often. Too bad we didn't asked for the name of our waiter to...

Si trova non lontano dal centro, in un vicolo dove ogni tanto il parcheggio si trova. Il locale è molto curato con travi e muratura a vista, su due livelli. Curato anche l’aspetto tipico del luogo, sapori e vini doc della Romagna con qualche divagazione dello chef su piatti ormai immancabili per i buongustai nostrani. Gentile il personale che sin da subito ci ha consigliato al meglio. Ho cominciato con tagliatelle fatte in casa con crema di fave, salsiccia e formaggio di fossa, per secondo uno spettacolare bollito con ben 7 tagli di carne molto buona accompagnata da ottime salse. Per finire un dolce fantastico, tortino al cioccolato accompagnato da crema al mascarpone artigianale. Veramente piatti di qualità ma il menù non lascia spazio ad incertezza, anche il resto dei piatti sono da provare con gusto e calma accompagnati da un buon vino (hanno infatti Anche un’ottima cantina dei vini che tocca diverse regioni d’Italia). Uscirete sicuramente sazi ma anche certi di avere gustato finalmente l’eccellenza della qualità delle materie prime che ormai sono un utopia in molti ristoranti in giro. I prezzi sono certamente non popolari ma onesti, considerate le porzioni abbondanti e soprattutto la qualità dei piatti compreso un impiattamento ben curato. Non ho dato il massimo perché non adatto ai diversamente abili con difficoltà motorie in quanto il locale ha scale ed all’esterno ho notato qualche barriera architettonica che trovo impensabile nell’ormai 2023! In ogni caso un ristorante che consiglio per cene anche intime è solo per veri buongustai della fantasia italiana che non ha pari nel mondo.

AGGIORNAMENTO: Ritornato nuovamente, però il servizio davvero scaduto…i camerieri corrono da un punto all’altro della sala ma il servizio è lo stesso lentissimo, solo per prendere la comanda abbiamo aspettato mezz’ora! Inoltre ho notato molta gente del posto ai tavoli che venivano serviti molto più velocemente, la mia sensazione adesso è che facciano un po’ di differenza, abbastanza brutto. Rimane cibo di qualità ma non è un matrimonio, c’è chi non vuole stare tutta notte a cenare insomma. Si può...

Lovely people here. No pretense. The crispy egg with Jewish-style artichoke was delightful, and the strozzapreti ragu was a must-have if you want to discover the range of Italian pasta. I found the bollito (boiled meat) a struggle without any green veg and the condiments are an acquired taste, but that's why I chose it. The zuppa Inglese was good but, if you are a sherry trifle lover, it's different. The sommelier made a good wine choice (a bolder Sangiovese) - it was priced maybe at 2x retail for the year - 2011. Service was attentive but not intrusive and the clientele was mixed and lively....
