Chichibio Roccaraso — Restaurant in Roccaraso

Saw some odd reviews of this place so thought I'd give my 7.2 pence. We knew it was not a cheap restaurant and a treat, not where you'd eat daily so went prepared. We also saw some reviews where the quantity of the food was questioned.

So, yes it's not cheap. Yes, you're not getting a massive fry up or pizza or huge gut busting plate of pasta. What you are getting though is fantastic service, the people were really friendly, a lovely spot, and fantastic food. We were both full from the meal.

My wife had the rabbit for main and it was by far the best rabbit she'd ever had, and she's had three.

Would definitely go again, but as a treat, not for...

Very disappointing for a Michelin recommendation. Not sure if the kitchen has changed since but it really needs improvement. Tortelli with black truffles had no lavor whatsoever, with a watery sauce and sadly tasted as if it were bought in broth form at a supermarket. How could you even go wrong with such a classic Italian dish? Beef tartare was much less than satisfactory, and the crunchy chicken was good but to be honest, who comes all the way here for that? Homemade bread and Montepulciano d'Abruzzo wine were nice. Did not really feel the essence of Abruzzo here. Food quality needs a lot of work to earn a spot...

Abbiamo scelto di festeggiare il nostro anniversario da chicchibio, non potevo non scrivere una recensione appena conclusa la cena. Partiamo dal locale, semplice ed accogliente, seppur in un ambiente piccino ci ha subito conquistati. Ci tengo ad evidenziare che siamo venuti in compagnia del nostro cagnolino Topinambur che é stato accettato e soprattutto accolto, in molti ancora ci cacciano appena menzioniamo la sua presenza. Il cameriere sarebbe motivo di una sesta stella cum laude, ha saputo accompagnare la cena con discrezione ed estrema cortesia, consigliandoci egregiamente e illustrandoci con maestria le preparazioni rispondendo esaustivamente a tutti i nostri quesiti. I piatti sono davvero interessanti, consiglio i ravioli come primo e l'agnello per secondo. Per quanto riguarda i dolci, al contrario di molti ristoranti qui l'offerta é addirittura superiore alle altre portate, difficile aiutarvi a scegliere... Noi ci abbiamo messo un po' e, alla fine, é stato il cameriere a farci assaggiare i migliori con un gentile omaggio. La cena é stata un vero percorso culinario curato nei minimi dettagli, il vino consigliato era un valido compagno e il conto, antagonista abituale dei locali sofisticati, si é rivelato una piacevole sorpresa. In conclusione, da amante del buon cibo, vi consiglio di regalarvi una serata speciale...
