Anvedi Tuscolana — Restaurant in Rome

We as tourists decided to find a place to have dinner away from the tourists spots that typify the Center of Rome. We chose Mattarello Tuscolana because it was along the metro line that was also near our accommodations. The place was just what we had hoped for. We were the only non locals. Ironically our waiter spoke excelent English and was very nice. The food was reasonably priced and very authentic Roman dishes. I would recommend it and I would also go back there. We had great service and had a lovely dinner. I went with my family, so we were with four people. Last year I went with my boyfriend and we had a lovely, last night in Rome at Anvedi. So when I came back to Rome with my family I knew I had to visit this restaurant again. So we did. My whole family was enthousiastic about the food, staff and ambiance of the place. Purtroppo mi tocca modificare l'eccellente recensione che ho lasciato 2 mesi fa. Sono ritornata in questo locale altre due volte assieme al mio ragazzo, l'ultima volta è stata proprio ieri a pranzo e abbiamo avuto un'esperienza un po' spiacevole. Abbiamo ordinato una gricia chiedendo la variazione della pasta (pasta corta al posto della pasta lunga), il ragazzo che ha preso la comanda ci avvisa che per la pasta corta è necessario attendere circa un quarto d'ora per la cottura. Non vuoi che questo quarto d'ora diventa un'ora di attesa per dei problemi "tecnici". Ora, non mi lamento dell'attesa perchè comunque i ragazzi ci hanno posto più volte le loro scuse, mi lamento del trattamento che c'è stato dopo. Premettendo che, noi non ci siamo assolutamente lamentati della situazione anzi, siamo stati totalmente comprensivi, il ragazzo che si occupava della cassa ci ha detto: "Dopo mi faccio perdonare io". Pensavo che comunque ci sarebbe stato un certo riguardo, quindi uno sconto consistente, ma forse dall'altro lato hanno approfittato proprio del fatto che non abbiamo proferito parola e quindi questa promessa non è stata mantenuta, o meglio, ci è stato fatto uno sconto di ben 50 cent. Ovvio che non ci saremmo mai aspettati il pranzo regalato, ma allo stesso tempo ci siamo sentiti parecchio presi in giro, soprattutto dopo quell'affermazione e quindi avremmo preferito più attenzione da questo punto di vista, anche perchè siamo già tornati più volte in questo locale. Confido che se dovesse capitare un'altra volta si troverà una soluzione migliore. Buonissimo il supplì e anche la gricia, ma soprattutto che gentilezza!! Locale scoperto per caso ma veramente...
