Enoteca Colombo — Restaurant in Rome

Friendly service, beautiful food, great atmosphere, and clearly a hot spot for all the locals. We visited this restaurant one night whilst on holiday and I think we were the only tourists in there, however we did not feel out of place. We arrived just before 7pm and received a lovely warm welcome. At this point there was only 1 other table in but the place soon started filling up and we could see why. My partner is a chef (sometimes hard to please) but he was absolutely delighted with every dish that we ordered! We went here on our last night in Italy. We were staying at an airbnb within walking distance, definitely in a residential neighborhood with barely any tourist. It ended up being our favorite restaurant out of our entire trip! We got there as soon as they opened for dinner and quickly went from the only people there, to not an open seat in the house. They have a huge wine selection and their food is to die for. We were the only people in the restaurant speaking English, besides the owner/our server. Which made me feel like this is a true authentic Italian place, loved by the locals. It is a very quaint, cozy place with a wonderful atmosphere! Stopped here late on our first day in Rome after resting in hotel due to sleeply flight from the States. My introduction to Italian Cuisine could not have been better. Marco our waiter rushed our order in and sevred everything at once since kitchen was closing. Tuna Tartare, Swordfish Carpaccio, served with our Pica with saffron and Carbonara, washed down with a bottle of Campo Nova red wine. Probably one of the top five restaurant dinners i have experienced in my 62 years and i have had some great meals. Thanks to the staff for being so helpful.
