Il Caminetto Restaurant — Restaurant in Rome

Facade of restaurant looks nice then you go in and the staff is rude, no hello although we had a reservation. My food was good, not better. My boyfriend's amatriciana was not good. The guanciale was burnt completely and the tomato sauce was overly acidic and warm which didn't allow the pecorino to amalgamate. Service was terrible. Bathrooms were dirty as was the restaurant. Stains on waiters outfit, cutlery and glasswear very dirty. I was back to Italy from abroad and it was so upsetting to be "welcomed" back like this for the first time entering a restaurant. Especially when you're coming with a guest where hospitality and food in Italy is meant to be good....

This restaurant is excellent, high class and very authentic. We were surrounded by Italian clients, which is what we were looking for. They only have a menu in Italian, but a very nice waiter translated everything for us. We ended up going two nights in a row because it was so good and we wanted to try other plates from the menu. Best Eggplant Parmigiana we have ever had at a restaurant. Our waiter suggested the starters, which we shared, and each one was a delicacy. I highly recommend this place for anyone searching for fabulous traditional Italian...

I was turned away by the restaurant. This place is rude, cold, and discriminating. I walked to this place in light rain around 8:20pm from my hotel, there were 2 tables of people, with ~10 tables free. After waiting for a couple of minutes to be seated, one server came to me and told me they don’t have any table available. I was totally surprised and asked about all the open tables, he said they were all reserved, which clearly is a lie.
