The manager from roadhouse battistini menaced us for the fact I told him I was going to post this comment !
Worst experience ever we had in Rome during our week there. We ended up on Easter Monday in roadhouse since the normal restaurants around were closed. We ordered the t bone steak and normal steak and for the kids a hotdog kids menu . When the food arrived we got our meat which was way smaller than what the picture of the menu promised and was completely tasteless. The French fries were cold and mine only being served after o asked if they forgot, and completely cold. Also thes fries were not fresh but frozen sponge like factory fries. The hotdog of my son, well it looked like it was made for my dog.. That said we tried to make the best of it since there was no real alternative seen the other restaurants were closed. When we asked the included drink for the kids menu they gave us a big Fanta instead saying there was no small one available, so we said ok, we will wait until our son finishes the big one...
At a certain moment they gave us the bill stating that we had to leave since they were going to close, this in an pretty unmannered way. When we looked at the bill, big was our surprise that they charged for the big Fanta we never ordered , so we asked some explanation. The explanation was that we had to pay since there was no small one.
I decided to pay anyhow but at the same time to tell them that our experience wasn't what we expected since that we had super good experiences with neighbour restaurants in the street and also the fact that we don't agree with the fact we have to pay for some we didn't order and the fact the food was absolutely not ok seen the prices were higher than the normal restaurants which serve the portions they promise and the quality one can expect. I paid giving my feedback but the manager became angry to the point that he actually followed us on to the street menacing us just for the fact I also told him that I was going to post this comment.. never again I will enter a roadhouse restaurant! We actually were considering filing a complaint against this guy for his behaviour. A shame someone like this is a manager.. Seen we are tourist's this guy his behaviour won't affect us, but we only hope that through this message we can avoid other people become victim of this tramp . The regular restaurants in the neighborhood are super good and honest, and for the worst less expensive.. Kind...
Read moreWhen you get the attention of a server and she smirks at you and holds her hand up as if to say, "wait", something is terribly wrong with this senario. But don't get surprised. Most of the Italians who work in fast food chains such as McDonald's, Burger King and in this situation, the Roadhouse will never smile at you from the first encounter until you leave the premises. It's as if it is your fault that they don't work at the bank. However I think it's these companies' responsibily to make sure their staff undergo training on how to properly treat customers who actually pay their salary. So whenever you get to visit Italy, do not expect somebody will smile at you when taking your order. One smile.... how hard...
Read moreCame with a friend who's a regular in this restaurant beginning of July but unfortunately that evening it didn't fulfil our expectations in term of service. The restaurant was fairly empty, still we waited almost 15 mins to get our order taken and the service wasn't too attentive in general. The food was really good though, that I can recommend!
But then we waited quite long just to ask for the bill, in the end we went to the counter, and the man there had us waiting for nearly another 10 mins. Maybe he had a bad day, he was unfriendly and just didn't care that we were standing there waiting for him to sort some paper or something. I hope the service improves in these small mistakes because the food...
