We called to book a table, indeed we do not speak Italian. We were told it was fully booked. Then we discussed with the (super nice) people from our hotel, they called and booked us a table. Obviously being Italian is important to go there.
When we arrived we received a menu translated into 4 languages, with a lot of item missing (we had been looking at their menu online). I asked the woman if there is another menu - which was a bit rhetorical because we were surrounded by people with an other menu - she told me it was the only one they had. It’s not only that the 4-langages menu did not have the same items (coppa, tiramisu, etc), some identical items were more expensive. When you receive the Italian menu, your ossobuco is 10€. If you don’t speak Italian, it’s 12€. Same goes for several dishes.
We ordered a bottle of wine, which has been displayed on the table without making us taste it or - at very least - serving us. It was so rude that it almost became embarrassing.
So well. The food was totally ok. And if you pay the Italian price, worth it.
But they don’t want foreigners to come to their place, and the message is crystal clear.
Too bad, we really were looking forward...
Read moreWhat a hidden gem! Very popular, so a booking would be advised. I was new to this town and just took a stroll and came along this lovely restaurant at 19h30. They kindly managed to squeeze me in. By 20h30 it was full. Everything is made to perfection. The best fillet steak I have ever had, no sauce needed. The vegetables and salad were so colourful and fresh. Service was friendly. It just had such an amazing atmosphere. Prices were good. Starter, drink, fillet steak, potatoes, roasted veg, salad and...
