We had a fantastic meal at Roteo during our stay at Musa! They were able to accommodate us for a 9-course tasting menu at 9:30pm which was gracious of them because it ended quite late after midnight. It is called “Aqua” and is a unique pescatarian focused meal with many innovative dishes such as a tableside smoking a shot of tomato juice with langostine to go alongside a langostine course, and a shellfish mix encased in a clear “plastic” shell made of a sort of rice paper to symbolize pollution of the ocean. The wine was also excellent and the service top-notch with precision timing that you’d expect of a restaurant gunning for a Michelin star (and deserving of one in my book). Ambiance is very crisp and modern and the place looks brand new. It’s right on the water but we were seated towards the interior next to the wine fridge which we were worried was a poor seat at first but proved to be very fun as it is lighted very nicely and we got to discuss more wines with the sommelier who was delightful. Overall it was a pure treat and a different kind of elevated dining experience that was a splendid in contrast to the more traditional Italian restaurants we mostly at at during our trip...
Read moreJust finished a most excellent dining experience here at Roteo with my partner! Having dined at multiple Michelin star restaurants, I feel that Roteo is very much deserving of a star, if tonight's meal is their standard. From the hidden "butterflies" to the dessert yogurt with beluga caviar, the food was beautiful, inventive, and most importantly... delicious! They were also able to accomodate my partner's gluten allergy. The service provided by the staff proudly met the level of service received at any of the Michelin restaurants at which we've dined. Indeed, it exceeded some of them. The staff members were attentive, without being stuffy. They worked together as a well oiled machine. Their timing was practically perfect, in my opinion. Just enough time between courses to savor the flavors and talk, without feeling either rushed or that the meal was...
Read moreIf I could give this restaurant 6 stars I would. Everything here was top notch. Food, service and ambiance was nothing short of Michelin star standard. Service here was like a well choreographed dance always in sync but never intrusive. I loved the fact that to keep diners occupied between the time between ordering and plating of starters, we had a fun game of spotting the “pea butterfly”. Such a sweet gesture and one that would remain with me for a while. Food wise, this restaurant was peerless in balancing Italian with international influences. We had the most amazing pasta and Perch Wellington. Pudding was equally mind blowing, special mention to the chocolate olive dessert. Sounds odd, but take the staff’s word for it, it’s one of the most marvellous desserts I’ve had on this recent trip to Italy. Will...
