Gusto in Tavola — Restaurant in Salerno

We decided to get some pasta around 10:30pm and stumbled upon Gustos with very good reviews. My boyfriend and I wanted pizza and pasta. We get there and it’s a lowly area with locals which is fine. He tries his best to speak italian but we are in no way on conversational level.

after a few minutes the women server came to take our order. We got no menus she just expected us to know. I just wanted a carbonara which was online so I didn’t mine. My boyfriend wanted pizza but the oven was down so we just decided to share one carbonara. She understood and wrote down carbonara on her note, and also confirmed “un carbonara” which we followed with “si”. We waited about 30 minutes for the pasta which was fine.

When the pasta came out, it was not a carbonara. We got a red sauce pasta with octopus tentacles. We were very confused but no one spoke english so we didn’t want to argue. We tried to stomach this pasta but it was genuinely bad. I love seafood but I had to pick out all the tentacles, and my boyfriend picked them out and he gagged.

We asked for the check and no receipt she only verbally stated the price of €34 which we were shocked because. the. reviews said that it was a cheap eat. We weren’t told any prices and we d definitely got scammed.

Divina esperienza culinaria! Il personale è cordiale e disponibile. Sulle pizze che abbiamo preso potrei elogiarle da oggi fino a domani. Impasto leggero con condimenti di ottima qualità e di prima scelta! Per i neofiti che arrivano qui per la prima volta consiglio la pizza "tronchetto" della casa....non ve ne pentirete! Mai mangiata una pasta così scadente a Salerno. Scotta e collosa. Il pomodoro acido. Oltre a questo ho trovato l'accoglienza veramente stucchevole, nessuno ha risposto quando abbiamo detto buongiorno e dopo che abbiamo detto che non avevamo prenotato la signora era alquanto seccata.
