An Exquisite Dining Experience at Pepe Nero, Salerno
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Pepe Nero in Salerno, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. Nestled along the picturesque Amalfi Coast, this restaurant offers not only breathtaking views but also a culinary journey that delights the senses.
Appetizers: A Flavorful Start
We began our meal with the Arancini. These golden, crispy rice balls were perfectly cooked, with a rich, savory filling that was both satisfying and delicious. They were the ideal appetizer to whet our appetites for the courses to come.
Salad: Fresh and Vibrant
Next, we enjoyed the Salad Lemon Mozzarella. This dish was a refreshing combination of crisp greens, zesty lemon, and creamy mozzarella. The balance of flavors was impeccable, with the lemon adding a bright, tangy note that elevated the freshness of the salad. The mozzarella was incredibly soft and smooth, a testament to the quality of the ingredients used.
Seafood: A Taste of the Gulf
The highlight of our meal was the Fried of the Gulf, a delightful assortment of fried shrimp, squid, and calamarelle. Each piece of seafood was expertly fried to a golden crisp, maintaining a delicate, light texture that was not greasy at all. The shrimp were succulent, the squid tender, and the calamarelle perfectly cooked. This dish truly showcased the best of the local seafood, and it was an absolute joy to eat.
Pizza: Cheesy Perfection
Finally, we indulged in the Pizzeria Cheesy Formaggiosa. This pizza was a cheese lover's dream, loaded with an assortment of rich, creamy cheeses that melted perfectly over a thin, crispy crust. Each bite was a symphony of flavors, with the cheeses blending harmoniously without overpowering each other. It was the perfect way to end our meal on a high note.
Service: Warm and Attentive
Throughout our dining experience, the service at Pepe Nero was impeccable. The staff were warm, attentive, and knowledgeable, offering excellent recommendations and ensuring that we were well taken care of. Their hospitality added a personal touch that made our visit even more memorable.
Conclusion: A Must-Visit Culinary Gem
In conclusion, Pepe Nero in Salerno is a must-visit for anyone looking to enjoy authentic Italian cuisine in a stunning setting. From the flavorful Arancini and refreshing Salad Lemon Mozzarella to the exquisite Fried of the Gulf and indulgent Pizzeria Cheesy Formaggiosa, every dish was a testament to the restaurant's dedication to quality and excellence. I highly recommend Pepe Nero to both locals and visitors alike for an unforgettable dining experience.

Decided to eat there at lunch. Inside almost 80% tables were free. On the terrace close to the sea 2/3 were taken. We were quite sure that can receive place outside. And We received it-the worst table in the hall between 2 “rooms”. Technically it is outside, but exactly in the walking road where the waiters go each 2 seconds.
We asked for another table, but all of them were “reserved”. Hostess stop talking with us and walk back to her place. O.o. Then switched to Italian. One of the waiters said that all booked, but he can’t said on which time.
I do not believe that all places reserved during the lunch, moreover it was close to 2 o’clock— soon people will leave the tables. Even if that were really reserved in can be managed easily with smile and offer to change a table if that will be free in 15-30min. We didn’t receive an offer for any place inside even.
I was ready to seat inside originally , but this disgusting relation to little question do not allow me to stay there. Do not want to find some surprise in my plate.
5min later we found Meaculpa. It was fully booked, but waiters offered us to wait 10-15min outside with smile and nice attitude and it was a great decision.
P.s. it is your choice to stay or not stay in the place which isn’t fully booked, but acts as is. Looks fancy- need...
Read moreI really wanted to enjoy my visit to Pepe Nero, but the experience was frustrating from the start. Despite having a reservation, we were seated in a hot, cramped corner—even though there were several open tables available. I don’t like tight spaces, and when we asked to move, the staff flat-out refused.
The service was painfully slow, and the waiter was rude throughout the meal. To make things worse, they brought me the wrong dish. I ordered the Mezze maniche alla rana pescatrice but was given something completely different. No apology, just attitude.
The only bright spot was the food itself. The Insalatina di mare con polpo, seppia, verdure alla julienne e crostini and calamari were delicious—but even great food can’t make up for poor service and a bad overall vibe. Definitely not...
