Restaurant Freina — Restaurant in Salten-Schlern - Salto-Sciliar

The ordered salmon was dry, overcooked, tasteless and cold. From a restaurant with reviews this good you'd expect something extraordinary, however the salmon was very underwhelming.

The beef tagliata was served on a cold plate instead of a hot stone, which resulted in the dish going cold as soon as it arrived at the table. That is unacceptable when it comes to meat of any kind, because you can't fully enjoy your meal.

On top of that the waiter wasn't attentive and seemed to have been rushing to close the restaurant already. Even though the salmon was barely touched, he didn't even bother to ask if anything was wrong with it.

There are far better restaurants nearby like Comici, Nives or La Bula, where you can get your moneys...

Restaurant was beautifully designed, staff spoke good English and was very pleasant. We ordered few cockails which were excellent and a starter which was very tasty and interesting. Second meal was a salmon with sweet potatos and vegetables. Salmon was completely full of bones up to the point I gave up trying to take them out. Besides the salmon there was 1 small piece of sweet potato, really just 1 piece. Veggetables were good, however I felt pretty much just as hungry as before. Staff offered us an extra desert, which was ok but did not really sort the problem of being hungry, so even though we paid 72 euro for dinner for 2 people I still had to go across the street to another restaurant to...

We had a lovely dinner at Freina. The atmosphere is very nice, with views of the mountains if get the right seat. The stuffed squash appetizer was very delicious. The three dumplings, local dish, is vegetarian and was yummy. The salmon entree was good. We had the elderflower gelato, it was icy and not great, you should skip it.
