On arrival to the hotel where the restaurant is, the reception staff told us to wait outside the front door of the restaurant and said someone will be with us in a bit. We waited outside awkwardly for 5 minutes before a staff opened the door, looked a bit surprised, and let us in.
My husband had alerted the restaurant about my food allergies when he first made the reservation - something the staff acknowledged they were aware of once we were handed the menus. That is why we were surprised when the amuse bouche came and one of my dishes was missing - they just skipped it instead of serving me an alternative.
Service was odd. We kept getting asked the same questions by the two different servers as if they have no coordination between them. Took a while for dishes to get cleared, and the same for empty water glasses getting filled. We left our coats with them on arrival (as per usual) and when we left they didn't offer to give us our coats back. While we were asking around for staff to get our coats back, the couple who left after us were given their coats first.
Food was hit and miss. It was palatable but some of the flavours just did not work - teriyaki sauce with cabbage cubes anyone?
All this is fine if you're not a Michelin one starred restaurant - something they attained, to my surprise. For food allergies that were made clear to the restaurant in advance, it does not take a lot of effort to prepare something else to make your guest not feel left out and penalised for having a food allergy. Certainly expected more heart and thought for a restaurant of...
Read moreA special dining experience all started with Aya finding us a table. We called on a whim and they had room for us. However, reservations are recommended. Upon arrival, Pasquale made me the perfect Cosmopolitan, just the way I like it. 🍸 Alessia sat us at a wonderful table in a beautiful room. Alessia, our Captain, was both highly professional and very knowledgeable of the menu. She and her teammate, Elia, made us feel like the only people in the room. There were many wines to choose from. Sommelier Marika chose the prefect wine to our taste. So perfect, we ended up ordering two! Most importantly, the food. Chef Alessandro combination of imagination and skill made for quite an evening of wonderful tastes. There is a set menu, but the restaurant is very flexible. We ordered à la carte, because there were so many great choices. Over all, this is a "don't miss", special dining experience while in The...
Read moreIf you have the chance to go, you absolutely should! The food was delicious, the ambiance was so charming, and the service was the best I’ve ever experienced. Matteo, the sommelier, made our evening feel like a private wine tasting, even giving us a tour of the wine cellar! We learned so much about the region and each wine we drank! Instead of the expected 5 courses, the kitchen surprised us with additional dishes, making the experience even more special. Every detail was thoughtfully attended to, including the significance of each napkin and decor piece, which our server shared with us. I could...
