Ristorante Selva Delle Torri — Restaurant in San Gimignano

Dreadful service and food, my wife and I entered at 19.15, got a table straight away. Once ordered, our starters of minestrone soup and my bruschetta came within 5 minutes. Can honestly say that the bruschetta was the worst I’ve had in all my years in Italy, bland, devoid of olive oil, needed jaws of steel to bite into bread. We didn’t finish either dish. Then we waited and waited for my minestrone I knew I wouldn’t eat, at 19.55 it came, some 35 minutes after ordering. The portions were extremely small. The starters were as 50% of the normal starters in other restaurants. We did not get also olive oil to the bread, and had to ask for it. We ordered pasta, the taste was OK. But the size was 1/3 of the normal size. The interior is normal, plastic seats and similar stuff, so it was shock to get so small portion for that price. It was surely not any luxurious place with amazing view and decor and professional stuff. The size of meal, the quality and the service did not correspondent to the price. Definitely the worst meal I've ever had to pay for. How an Italian restaurant in ITALY makes such bad bruschetta and pasta is beyond me. The bruschetta was stale, lacked olive oil, completely lacked salt, basil or garlic - everything that makes up bruschetta. We looked very hard for, not only meat, but also sauce (!) in our pasta. The only positive I can say of this place is the view of San Gimignano, and the waiters were nice. I can't say the same of the owner Marco though.
