Hotel le Colline — Hotel in San Gimignano

Summary|A very good, friendly efficient and well-positioned hotel to visit San Gimignano.||I chose this hotel as we would be arriving by hire car, and knowing San Gimignano (SG), we did not want to get caught up in SG’s central traffic. However that then leaves you with the problem of getting up to the old town. The hotel can describe a 40 minute walking route or you can just wait until the visiting tourists have gone after 7pm, then drive up. Parking is easier then.|We asked for a quiet room at the back and were pleased we had done so. A nice room, with a small balcony with a small table and two chairs. Nice bathroom with good walk-in shower. The guest room had ample space and in unseasonal weather it was not cold. Beds were comfortable. |Without a doubt this hotel had the friendliest staff we have encountered in visiting many hotels. They are efficient, helpful and polite. Das Albergo Le Colline liegt ca. 2-3 Autominuten von San Gimignano entfernt. Wir kamen von Poggibonsi her und da liegt das Hotel auf der rechten Seite. |Es hat einen grossen Parkplatz und einen Pool sowie ein zugehöriges Restaurant, das Ristorante da Nisio. Das Essen im Restaurant war aus meiner Sicht sensationell (wir assen an 2 Abenden dort). Ich bewerte es jedoch separat.||Der Empfang bei der Chefin war überaus freundlich und hilfsbereit. Wir konnten ein wenig mit ihr plaudern (English). Leider nicht italienisch, aber das lag an uns. :)|Sie hatte diverses Kartenmaterial für uns und gab uns Tipps zu San Gimignano und weiteren Sehenswürdigkeiten.||Das Hotel hat keinen Lift, spielte für mich keine Rolle. Wir bekamen ein Zimmer, welches von der Strasse abgeneigt war. Es hatte einen Balkon, der direkt ins Grüne gerichtet war, Natur pur.|Es war gross, wirklich angenehm gross. Wir hatten genug Platz für unseren grossen Koffer und die Rucksäcke. |Auch das Bett war bequem und die Matratze eher hart. Weiter hatte es einen kleinen Kühlschrank, der hervorragend funktionierte.|Das Bad hatte eine angenehme Grösse und eine sehr gute Dusche. Es war alles sehr sauber und es roch frisch und gepflegt im Bad und im Zimmer.|Natürlich gab es auch W-Lan Empfang. Bei uns hat dieser tip top funktioniert.||Das Personal allgemein und vor allem die Chefin war einfach nur Spitze. Alle waren sehr hilfsbereit und freundlich. Wir fühlten uns total wohl und wurden auch immer wieder einmal gefragt, ob alles passt oder ob noch Wünsche offen bleiben. |Ich finde keinen Punkt, welchen ich kritisch bewerten könnte.||Das Frühstücksbuffet war kontinental und die Auswahl war absolut in Ordnung. Es gab frische Brötchen, Früchte, verschiedene Müesli und auch Fleisch sowie Käse. Speziell waren die Oliven, sie waren unglaublich gut. Zusätzlich hatte es auch noch Kuchen oder Gebäck und natürlich Kaffee sowie zwei verschiedene Säfte. |Alles schmeckte frisch und wurde sofort wieder aufgefüllt, sobald etwas fehlte. Einziger kleiner Punkt, für mich hätten gekochte Eier noch gepasst, resp. hätte ich mir gewünscht. - Ich weiss, jammern auf sehr hohem Niveau.||Fazit:|Gleich vorne weg, so stelle ich mir Ferien und einen Aufenthalt für einige Nächte vor. Weil es ein drei Sterne Hotel ist, waren die Preise aus meiner Sicht sehr angemessen. Aber das Angebot und der Service muss zuerst noch von einem anderen Hotel überboten werden.||Ich kann die Albergo Le Colline aus jeder Sicht empfehlen. We absolutely loved our stay at Hotel Le Colline. The room was spotlessly clean with amazing views from the balcony out onto the beautiful Tuscan hills. ||The staff in particular were what made this place very special to stay , very personable extremely helpful for any request we had and made us both feel at ease as soon as we arrived. Little mention to the hotel dog , Nina , we loved seeing her every morning whilst having our coffee out on the terrace. We enjoyed a meal at their restaurant on site which we would highly recommend to try. ||It’s in a perfect location to walk into San Gimignano , only 15 -20 mins walk away and well worth a walk around and sample the local cuisine. ||Once again thanks for making our stay a memorable one , we were in the area for our friends wedding and it’s a trip that will stay...
