Ristorante Mare Blu — Restaurant in San Michele Salentino

This is the third time my husband and I went to this restaurant after some years. We have always been very happy about the food and have been waiting to go there again. Apparently, in the meantime the owner has changed, which we realized immediately as you drink of plastic cups and the variety of fish to choose from is minimal. We had a set of starters. The fish was not fresh and some difficult to chew as well as too oily. Then we ordered pasta with seafood, however, it came with literally 3 pieces of mussels and too much olive oil. Un punto di forza è essere principalmente una pescheria, permettendosi così di offrire una materia prima ottima, fresca e di stagione. Abbiam cenato di venerdi, eravamo in 6, servizio veloce e attento, a tratti simpatico. Ci siamo destreggiati fra antipasti abbondanti, impepate impeccabili, crudo eccellente e primi molto saporiti; abbiamo speso 30€ a testa, direi assolutamente un prezzo onesto. Unico neo è la frittura, personalmente la preferisco più eterogenea e una puntina più light, tuttavia i gamberi che c'erano erano perfetti e numerosi. La location è certamente spartana, eravamo su dei tavoli per strada, un sottile separé ci distaccava dalle automobili ma va detto che la strada non è assolutamente trafficata, nonostante fossimo a poche decine di metri dal centro città. Una bella scoperta. Questo ristorante è piaciuto a tutti noi per la qualità del cibo. Una pescheria con personale gentilissimo che ci ha accolto, nel retro locale-ristorante, come fossimo in famiglia. Un menù che ci ha soddisfatto pienamente. Naturalmente trattandosi di una pescheria le pietanze sono tutte a base di pesce senza eccedere nel prezzo che è veramente contenuto potendo scegliere tra una buona varietà di portate ed addirittura con menù fisso a 25€ bevande escluse.
