Caffè Savoia " di Bua " — Restaurant in San Vito Lo Capo

Due to renovations the B&B I am staying at gave me a voucher to Caffe Savoia for a meal. I did not make it for breakfast but the B&B noted I could use it any time so I headed to the Caffe, where the manager refused to accept it. I assured them it was not a big deal and would pay but I sat and waited and waited and waited.....and no service. I finally went looking for the waitress and asked her for a menu. She marched back to my table ahead of me , turned the napkin holder toward me and showed me the torn Q code on the side, and declared that it was the menu. As she walked away she muttered something under her breath, and gathering from the drama to this point, I figured it was rude and probably insulting. At that point I got up and walked a few steps away to a patisserie where I had good service as well as a great seat in the sun. At this point in my life, I refuse to spend money, energy or time on rude, ignorant people and am happy to spend extra on those who are just decent people. CAFFE Savoia fails...

We had two attempts at this place. Firstly we wanted to order a glass of wine one evening, after receiving the menu, the waiters were obviously ignoring us by looking away and avoiding eye contact. After a longer while we decided to leave. Our second attempt was ordering some coffee and something sweet. As it was a very hot day we wanted some ice coffee. After explaining to the waiter that it is just a double espresso with milk and ice, she started discussing our order with another waiter, clearly laughing at us just 1 m away. It was obvious that our order was very funny, and even though my Italian knowledge is limited, I understood the context. Prime location, right by the central square but it’s obvious this is the main thing driving custom to this cafe. We sat for 15 minutes outside trying to get attention to order with the waitress several times saying she’ll be with us in just a moment. It was late morning so not very busy and instead of taking our order she proceeded to clear out half a dozen empty tables (there were twice as many clean and free). Eventually we gave up and went to the cafe over the road and within seconds of us standing up she was there to wipe down the table and clear away chairs.
