I Giorgini Ristorante Giardino — Restaurant in San Vito Lo Capo

Greatly located in the center of San Vito Lo Capo, with a view from the terrace on the medieval castle. Very cosy interior, well decorated in coastal style. The menu was full of Sicilian classics: lots of traditional dishes, sea food and pasta's. Don't be fooled by the all-time classic flavours, the plates are incredibly refined and very modern presented. The service was very friendly and professional, although we felt a little bit targeted, being the only guests in the restaurant that quiet evening. We enjoyed the raw 'catch of the day' as a sharing dish: it tasted very fresh and was the perfect starter before the equally delicious mains. Also the 'trio of chocolate' was the best dessert I had during our Sicilian trip. Compliments to the chef. We definitley recommend...

A warm welcome to our stay in San Vito. We were looking for the right dinner place for some time, when we bumped into this sanctuary. A really charming host presented us with an english menu & showed us ‘the catch of the day’ fresh fish, which we had grilled in front of us with some nice side of baked potatoes & a sicilian fennel salad. The tastes were not overcomplicated & there was an emphasis on the quality of ingredients, which we really enjoyed. The staff was very friendly, professional & attentive. The garden was stylish, romantic, full of lush greenery, with an intimate atmosphere. We can not recommend this place enough. Especially if you’re looking for some nice dinner on the fancier side & want to try out some fresh local fish...

Mai scritto recensioni negative, ma la nostra esperienza da I Giorgini è stata troppo deludente per passare inosservata. Il personale di sala ha fatto del suo meglio per accoglierci e farci sentire a nostro agio, e l’impressione iniziale è stata davvero ottima: l’atmosfera era suggestiva e il giardino interno ci ha subito colpiti per bellezza e tranquillità.

Purtroppo, il cibo ha raccontato tutt’altra storia.

Abbiamo ordinato due primi diversi, ma già dopo pochi bocconi abbiamo concordato che il sapore era strano e poco gradevole. Le salse erano estremamente oleose, con un gusto burroso e pesante che copriva ogni altro aroma. Il mio piatto era guarnito con il “crudo del giorno”, che però sembrava più un insieme di scarti del pesce fresco che una guarnizione curata.

Capisco perfettamente che in cucina possano esserci giornate storte, ma ciò che mi ha veramente deluso è stato il modo in cui è stata gestita la situazione. Il personale si è accorto che non stavamo gradendo i piatti, e lo chef o un responsabile (non so bene) si è avvicinato al tavolo. Da prima per capire ma poi contuando con un atteggiamento difensivo, quasi come se ci fossimo permessi di offenderlo. Da professionista del settore, ho trovato questo comportamento irrispettoso e per nulla all’altezza di un ristorante che si propone con queste pretese.

Alla fine abbiamo pagato per piatti che non abbiamo consumato, senza che ci venisse offerto alcun gesto di comprensione o attenzione.

Purtroppo, dopo cena non ci siamo sentiti bene nemmeno fisicamente, il che ha confermato la nostra decisione di non continuare.

Una location bella non basta. Da migliorare la gestione del cliente e soprattutto in cucina. Nessuno dovrebbe far sentire un cliente in colpa per la propria opinione. E sopratutto sottolineo quanto detto: La vera professionalità significa dare priorità all’esperienza del cliente, non...
