We've been coming here year, after year and never left disappointed. The service is always amazing, the staff is extremely professional, polite and caring. The space is lovely, modern, with a hint of sophistication, a different offer from the rest of the more traditional competition in San Vito. The food is incredible and this is the main reason why we come back. When I think gourmet I think about small courses, over priced, pretentious, but Syrah serves what gourmet should aim to be: balanced dishes, with great flavours and textures, fresh ingredients, satisfying portions and fair priced. Yes, it's probably one of the most expensive restaurants in the San Vito main street, but it's worth it! The wine list also offers and good variety of local Sicilian and Italian wines, with different flavour and price ranges. We started our meal sharing the "Tortino di Melanzane" (fried aubergine, fresh tomato sauce, salty ricotta cheese), for main course I had the off-menu "Couscous Nero di Seppia i Crustacei" (Couscous in cuttlefish black ink and seafood) and my girlfriend had the "Spaghetti alle Vongole" (pasta and clams). We had a Sicilian white grillo, "La Pura". We were more than happy with the food. If you come, definitely book a table in advance. The in-garden is a lovely place, but we were late to book it. We decided to take a table on the street, which was lovely (the weather helped a lot), just don't be surprised if people stop to stare at your food. Covid-19: the staff all had masks on, menu is available scanning a QR code or you can request a paper menu at your own risk. Everything was spotless and immediately cleaned after someone leaves. This is our favourite place in San Vito for a reason and this is why we always recommend it.

Lovely restaurant, an outlier amongst the average offer here at San Vito. Competent choise of raw materials particularly fish. Quality services. Price in line with quality of served food. I had a stater of 7 different types of raw crusteceans and molluscs..all of them fresh and tasteful. Other strong points on a well balanced menu are the Cous cous with crusteceans and the tuna with almonds. Location is another strong point. If possible I suggest the inner court , refurbished with modern style accompanied by chillout lounge music not forgetting marks of Sicilian style Certainly recommended place for special event or simply an evening out of the ordinary in the beautiful vanue of San Vito Lo Capo.

Syrah was recommended to is by our B&B owner as a place that excels in serving traditional Sicilian delicacies..we found Syrah nothing short of outstanding -with hearty portions, mouth-watering starters.and varied menu doing the magic. Service is super-quick and courteous. Everyone is very friendly and, even though we don:t speak Italian, the staff at Syrah made every effort to communicate with us in English. They have outdoor as well as indoor seating. Reservation recommend... especially during busy season.

Unfortunately our experience at Syrah was memorable for all the wrong reasons. The food was good (however, expensive for what they offered) but the service was something that the staff failed at at every opportunity.

Food: I had the caponata and clam pasta. Whilst these dishes were overall tasty, the caponata was a bit too acidic and the pasta sauce had too much sand from the clams.

Service: The service experience starts with our 10pm booking. The table is not ready and we are waiting outside for a total of 30 minutes. We got menus and were ready to order, but amongst the 5 wait staff in the garden section of the restaurant, only one could take orders. When we asked another waiter that we had been waiting for 15 minutes, she threw her hands up and didn't have any words for us. The one capable of taking orders was busy with another table next to us for about 15 minutes with information about daily dishes and special orders. There was clearly a huge and unfair importance put on those guests, which made our experience bad throughout the night.

When we finally ordered and alerted the waiter taking the orders that we had waited 30 minutes outside and 15 minutes inside, she had no apology or words to respond to us with. Even a light "please excuse us" would have been enough, but she was too preoccupied with returning to the table next to us.

The preoccupation with these supposed VIPs was actually quite embarrassing for the restaurant because they invited the chef and cashier to greet them, but not other guests, including us. Every waiter was waiting on them and in the end we were not being taken care of.

We had very high expectations since this was recommended by friends and family but unfortunately we will not be back. There are many other excellent but less pretentious places in San Vito for a lower...
