ENGLISH: I have been coming to this restaurant for two years and we have always enjoyed it. We waited an hour to wait for two dishes that my boyfriend and I had ordered: tagliolini with lobster and a seafood salad. We asked the waiters twice for the delay but they didn't tell us anything. We were only brought very hard bread almost inedible. My boyfriend was disappointed first of all by the quantity of pasta (maximum 100 grams), and by the lobster that was only half of it despite the other years it was always whole (at the same beautiful price of 25 €). The texture and flavor weren't great, despite the live lobsters at the entrance, it didn't feel fresh. In my seafood salad I found two pieces of plastic and then a third one, although I hate leave dishes unfinished I decided to send the dish back in the kitchen in fear of having ingested more before. I pointed out this twice to two different waiters: None of them bothered to tell me anything. When I went to the cashier I pointed out that we received bad service and about the plastic: the cashier started saying that it was not plastic but squid bones that had not been cleaned well and to defend herself by removing the salad from the bill and after several of his attempts to make me change my mind about the service we were insulted on our way out, and sarcastically invited to put a bad review. I think we will never go back to this restaurant.
High price and poor quality of food. This is not Italian food but a TURIST TRAP. Not to mention the service of waitress and cashier: wordless!
Read moreChaotic service. We waited for 20 mins for drinks to come. We asked the waiter that took our order about the drinks, he looked at us and left. The other 2 waiters we asked were from different planets. The lasagna was uneatable, had a taste like the meat was weeks old, although it looked terrific. Initially we ordered a Pizza Capriciosa, which came on time. We gave back the lasagna and asked for another Capriciosa. The guy came after 30-40 mins with 2 pizzas. We tried telling him we only have 1 waiting (although we finished eating long time before), he started rolling his eyes and said we have 2 and these are it. Well, great, so what did my kid just eat? 'Cause that pizza didn't look anything like these ones. I asked a poor guy for salt. Saw him after 10 mins running around and asked again. He looked at me and vanished. Came back after 5-10 mins asking what I needed. Asked for a beef well done. I stopped and looked at him and reiterated WELL DONE. He confirmed. Beef came medium ... :) Octopus came burnt. Like that black crust burnt. Maybe it was a birth mark I thought laughing with the others ... Pizzas are good. Pastas also. Anything else is a strech. And the waiters are chaotic, running around not listening and bringing you plates that you have no idea of only to realise it's not yours. Ate here in our last night and I regret it. Ate at Skipper next to it and service was flawless, their sin is they're limited in the menu and we thought trying someting new. Well, not doing that again, that's...
Read moreMy wife and I came to San Remo for a half day’s trip. We arrived at 2:00PM, when most shops were closed. After an hour of strolling, we walked by this gem. It was spacious, close to the water, and the servers seemed welcoming enough, as we looked through their menu outside, so we decided to go in. The restaurant specializes in typical Italian fare, with extensive variations. Each dish had an explanation in English, Italian, and two other languages, (I don’t remember which). We ordered the eggplant parmesan, a salad with tomatoes, greens, olives, and mozzarella, the vegetarian pizza, and french fries. The restaurant puts New York’s Italian restaurants to shame. The mozzarella in the salad was the best I have ever had; it is soft and melts in your mouth. The eggplant parmesan was the perfect portion; the eggplant was thinly sliced in layers, and the marinara was subtle and flavorful, unlike New York marinara sauce with just tastes like tomatoes in ketchup. The veggie pizza is topped with peppers, zucchini, and eggplant, all of which are grilled. We also ordered cappuccinos after our meal, which were strong and milky with the right amount of froth. The food is simple, yet wholesome and flavorful. Our lunch here definitely added to our wonderful day...
