Ristorante pizzeria GastHaus — Restaurant in Santa Flavia

This was my third time in Porticello (my family comes from there). The Gasthaus for me was kind of new even though I knew their name since I was younger, but they were located in an other site in the village. For the three visits (that could vary from 4-5 or even 10 to 12 days, this really beautiful restaurant/pizzeria, has become my every evening dinner place. I recommend this establishment without even a small second thought after I have seen and experienced a very friendly staff welcoming their customers. They allow pets and they really look after families with small children. I see every generation of people going dining @ the Gasthaus and it doesn't surprise me at all basically because they serve excellent food, and they offer a great service at an affordable price. I tasted many dishes from their menu from various starter plates to mains as pastas and pizzas to meat and/or fish and seafood dishes and everything was and is always tasteful and really satisfying. La poca attenzione per il cliente, insieme al disservizio mi costringono a dare non più di 1 stella. Intanto non ci hanno chiesto il green pass. Ancora peggio, tutti i camerieri con la mascherina sotto al naso, menù unti passati di mano in mano, alla faccia della prevenzione. Il posto di per sé è carino, fronte mare. Il cibo senza infamia e senza gloria, dipende il tipo di pasta gradevole. Scelta di vini esigua, mancava anche quello scelto da noi, ci siamo trovati costretti a prendere un vino che non valeva il suo costo (più del doppio rispetto alla vendita al dettaglio in un qualsiasi supermercato). Un caso?! Chissà. Chi prendeva le comande davvero spero sia stato nel suo giorno storto, perché oltre che a convincermi a prendere la pasta modificata come un altro commensale (disse per risparmiare tempo e cucinarla tutta insieme - wow che professionalità) è tornato con il mio piatto cucinato nel modo sbagliato vista la mia intolleranza (a detta di lui fu colpa dello chef) e hanno dovuto ugualmente rifare la pasta, facendo passare ugualmente tanto altro tempo (stavolta ho trovato la metà del condimento ndr)! Chiesi pure consiglio su un secondo piatto da scegliere che fosse di pesce FRESCO. Inutile dirlo.. Ha risposto "qui tutto è fresco": non prendete mai la grigliata di pesce né il calamaro né la frittura di pesce se tenete ai vostri denti e alle vostre tasche. Surgelati e duri come le corna. Se volete pesce fresco parlate per lo meno con qualcuno del ristorante che sia sincero. Infine la cosa pazzesca: fraintendere la risposta "sì" al "possiamo tagliare la torta"...? Ma come si fa? È un compleanno e ci hanno portato la torta già tagliata sui piattini... È ovvio che devi tagliare la torta AL TAVOLO.... E il festeggiato a soffiare sulla candelina posta su mezza torta deturpata. Che magra figura. Meno male che lui non ci tiene a queste cose. Io sì però. E quindi dò il mio voto personale. L'attenzione al cliente è stata del tutto inesistente. Spero davvero che miglioriate. Nel frattempo, ovviamente, data l'esperienza, non penso che tornerò più a Porticello, se così fate scappare tutti (mi riferisco ad altre brutte esperienze in un altro ristorante... Però lì almeno il pesce era fresco, qui si paga tanto e in modo sproporzionato...

Having eaten twice at this restaurant I can thoroughly recommend it. Very clean, modern and comfortable restaurant with views out over the sea. Menu is interesting and slightly quirky. We tried the burger in Roquefort and walnut sauce, grilled steak done to perfection, various bruschettas as well as a pizzas and salads. Instead of ordinary breadsticks they provide delicious strips of pizza dough garnished with tomato and sesame seeds. We like our food well flavoured so enjoyed the opportunity to add from the selection of olive oils, chilli flakes, black pepper as well as balsamic vinegar to our salad.
