ORIGINAL: 3.5 would be a more accurate score. Given the great reviews, we expected better. 14€ for not even a full bowl of lentil soup, one piece of tasty bread, and one link of sausage. Veggie version was 10€. The soup was barely warm. Sausage was delicious. Wines by the glass were tasty, if not quite a full glass. Nice people operate the establishment. (They even deducted 2€ off our bill for the delay in being served) But compared to other places where we ate in town, the price/quality/amount doesn’t hold up. UPDATED: I appreciate the proprietor taking time to provide his perspective. I had the sandwich and wow the focaccia was second to none! The location of the cantina is gorgeous, it wasn’t too busy when I went. The conversation that followed with Paolo who was friendly, personable and incredibly interesting to listen to as he told me about the origin of the cantina, his sources for his produce - it really was a stand out meal of my trip. Can’t wait to return next time I’m driving through L’aquila. Thanks Paolo...
