I believe this is the best price/quality location in Santo Stefano. Clean rooms (only 3) and bathrooms (2). Amazing restaurant and great breakfast with home made cakes. However, what makes our stay unforgettable is the kindliness of the waiters, always smiling, kind, and ready to provide support. We were a party of four hiking along the “il cammino del Gran Sasso”. A team member had a broken shoe and we were in trouble to continue our hiking tour, because there are no shops in the village. At the end of her shift, the waiter of the morning (red hair) took the broken shoe back to her village (much bigger than Santo Stefano) and bought a new pair of shoe, which she brought us the day after. That is an excellent service !!! A ”tangible” customer satisfaction...

What a find! A charming restaurant with a warm, friendly welcome from the lovely lady. We went straight to the table in this small, atmospheric dining area.

The menu has many tasty dishes, many with white truffles, which we just had to try. Out shred first course was a beautifully cooked aubergine flas-with truffles! My main was tender sage costed lamb and my darling wife had absolutely delicious pasta with, guess what, truffles!! Chef and his team run a very good kitchen here.

The house wine is delicious. We intended to have a glass each but it was so flavoursome we had the bottle.....at €13! For us Irish, this is an absolute bargain.

Esperienza da dimenticare. Non sono solita fare recensioni negative ma questa volta sono rimasta basita dalla disorganizzazione trovata. In data odierna (15 agosto) ci rechiamo alle ore 13:00 presso il ristorante avendo una prenotazione per due. Notiamo che stavano allestendo in quel momento tutti i tavoli per il pranzo di ferragosto (cosa già abbastanza anomala dato che per le 13:00 in teoria un ristorante dovrebbe essere già pronto ad accogliere i clienti). La motivazione alla base del ritardo sarebbe stato l’improvviso arrivo di un gruppo di ciclisti per pranzo. Non credo che nessuno sia stato obbligato a far sedere e mangiare il gruppo di ciclisti, è stata quindi una libera scelta a scapito di chi aveva prenotato già da tempo il pranzo. Scopriamo che la nostra prenotazione non risultava segnata (pur avendo prenotato in data 8 agosto), nonostante ciò ci viene comunque detto che ci avrebbero fatto sedere. Dopo circa mezz’ora di attesa ci viene assegnato un tavolo con altre due persone a noi sconosciute. Preciso inoltre che come noi anche altre persone hanno atteso 20/30 minuti per sedersi a tavola. Come se ciò non bastasse, uno dei nostri due posti era posizionato al sole. Chiediamo se gentilmente ci fosse un altro posto non al sole ma ci viene risposto che i tavoli a disposizione erano quelli. Credo in primis che al momento della prenotazione debba essere specificato che si condividerà il tavolo con due persone sconosciute così come ritengo che non sia accettabile far pranzare una persona al sole il 15 di agosto. Abbiamo quindi deciso a malincuore - poiché eravamo davvero contenti di provare questo ristorante - di andare via, data la situazione. Quando abbiamo comunicato la nostra decisione non ci è stato nemmeno chiesto scusa per la pessima gestione. Ci dispiace non aver potuto provare la cucina di questo ristorante ma al giorno d’oggi ritengo che un servizio all’altezza sia importante tanto quanto il...
