We came without a reservation and were seated right away — the restaurant was nearly empty, with only about four tables occupied. Despite this, we were told we couldn’t sit outside because it was “fully booked” (though it never got noticeably fuller during our entire stay).
When we politely asked to move to another table inside, due to a group of loud 12 year olds behind us constantly making fart noises, our request was refused. We were also told we couldn’t sit in a different room. It felt like we were being penalized just for asking.
In the end, we paid for our water and left. Fortunately, we found a much better experience at Il Giardànacco.
Disappointing service and hospitality, especially given how empty the restaurant was. Would not return.
Update: Dear Team Sos Ammentos,
Thank you for the reply — although it says much more about your attitude than about the actual situation.
Let me clarify one thing: the issue was not the presence of children, nor did we blame them. Children make noise, and that’s perfectly natural. What we politely asked for was simply to be seated at a different table — out of dozens that were visibly free — because of the overall atmosphere at ours. That’s all.
We also accepted that the outdoor seating was fully booked, even if it appeared mostly empty. But to be told we cannot move inside either, followed by sarcasm and personal mockery in your response here, simply confirms how unseriously feedback is treated at your restaurant.
Instead of addressing a simple, reasonable request with professionalism, your response shows defensiveness and contempt. That’s not how serious hospitality operates.
Luckily, we left early — and found genuine warmth, professionalism and excellent food at the other restaurant.
Thank you for showing us so clearly the kind of place we don’t want to support. You are so silly in all the other...
Read moreWe booked for a table of 12 despite an empty restaurant they were adamant they could not seat us at one table. We asked if they did cacio e Pepe and we were greeted with a condescending response that this is “not Italy” despite it being advertised as an Italian restaurant. and the host (the manager with a collared shirt) laughed in our face. They then took two tables of 6 and charged us incorrectly we ordered 1x calamari which we got charged for 4 serves. The pizza was priced at 11.50 and then charged 16.00 on the reciept which we challenged and they adjusted. We waited 1 hour for our non alcoholic beer and the manager just laughed it off. Food was good but not a good experience and they will overcharge...
