Ristorante OTTO — Restaurant in Sciacca

We had a lovely romantic dinner at Restaurant Otto. The moment we walked in my husband said “I think we are going to love this place”…and we were not disappointed. The restaurant is simple but sophisticated and the service is impeccable. We were delighted to find the wine list had many locally sourced wines…in particular we had two from the Alcomo area that were outstanding. My husband’s octopus was perfectly done and the best he had as we ate our way through Italy and Spain! It would be easy to miss Ristorante OTTO as the signs for it are quite discreet. This would be a shame since it's a real find. We stopped in Sciacca to break our trip to our next destination. We arrived mid-afternoon and pretty much everywhere was shut except for a panini place. We stumbled across OTTO by chance and had a really good meal. It's chic, elegant and the food is great. Scegliamo questo ristorante perché consigliato dall'hotel e perché altri più noti a Sciacca risultavano chiusi in questo periodo. Scelta migliore non poteva essere fatta. Innanzitutto va segnalata la gentilezza e la straordinaria accoglienza della proprietaria, la gentilissima Mirela che ci ha accolto con grazia e professionalità, pronta ad ogni esigenza regalandoci sempre un sorriso e cordialità, senza mai essere invadente. Passando alle pietanze sono veramente splendidi gli antipasti, primo fra tutti la cassata di aguglia imperiale con ricotta, fave e crema di pistacchio. Delicatissima, squisita... veramente sorprendente, altrettanto buoni la vellutata di zucca con tonno e chips di carote e il risotto acquerello allo zafferano con gamberi e crema di piselli. Anche i secondi sono fatti con estro, io ho provato il filetto di bovino con topinambur, anche questo non delude. Le porzioni sono tutte assolutamente regolari non mini, anzi più che giuste. Tutte le pietanze sono oltre che gustose anche ben presentate. Anche i dolci sono fatti bene (meglio la creme Brulee che la ova murina, dolce caratteristico di Sciacca) ed il servizio come detto accuratissimo. Per il vino c'è una buona scelta e pure le bottiglie più piccole da 375 anziché 750 ml. Complimenti allo chef Antonio e la moglie Mirela, torneremo sicuramente. DA...
