Pizzeria Perhonen — Restaurant in Solferino

Near exclusively a Pizza Restaurant, as is clear from the name. The Pizza here is wonderful and cheap, to the point where if it all cost 3€ more, it would still be a good deal. However: we visited on a normal Thursday evening, and it was hopelessly overcrowded. We waited 20 minutes to be able to order, another 20 minutes to get our water, another 20 to 40 minutes to get our pizzas. Only another hour later and after asking for it, we were able to pay for the food by coming to the front ourselves and explicitly saying that we really would like to pay now. The staff is nice, of course, but hopelessly overworked and stressed (I presume that explains the waiting). So while the food is great, the overall experience is not. It's as if the restaurant accepts more guests than the few staff can actually serve, to the detriment of those employed and to those looking for a nice dinner. Hard to recommend despite the good food.

We were seated inside the restaurant, as the outside was already full. This is fine and was to be expected. Unfortunately, the inside is extremely uncomfortable. The noise level is unbearable and headache inducing, because it is crammed full of tables to be able to receive as many guests as possible. Genuinely bad atmosphere, unfortunately.

Also, there is a hidden cost not explained or written on the menu; if you order a bottle of water, you get charged an additional 2€ per empty glass of water they give you, so you pay both for the water and as a hidden cost also for the ability to drink it. Not fun finding that out, and together with the few staff seems like the owner is trying to squeeze every last cent out of you. Arrivati in anticipo sull orario prestabilito, ci fanno accomodare comunque visto che il tavolo era libero, ci sediamo e tempo zero praticamente, la ragazza è già lì a chiederci se vogliamo ordinare; le dico di ripassare perché siamo appena arrivati... Passano altri 5 minuti ed è lì di nuovo,anche se io non avevo ancora scelto la pizza, ma avevo fame, ho scelto una pizza qualunque. Ordinato alle 20:20, dopo 40 minuti non si vede l ombra della mia pizza e dell insalata caprese della Kia compagna, lo faccio presente e mi viene detto che c era pieno ma che si sarebbe informata( si sarà pure informata,ma non ci viene detto nulla del perché così tanta attesa). Dopo 10 minuti arrivano 2 pizze, la mia è giusta,ma invece dell insalata caprese è arrivata una pizza caprese con pomodorini; la fame ed il mal di testa della mia compagna ci fa decidere di tenere la pizza anche se non era quella la pietanza ordinata, per potercene andare alla svelta. Sono stato in questa pizzeria perché leggevo le recensioni come una delle migliori in zona solferino. Ahimè devo invece sostenere l’esatto contrario: pizza sottile ma altamente non digeribile, pesantissima e senza gusto. Il servizio? Ci ha seguiti un ragazzo che una volta tolto i piatti della pizza ( ancora nel piatto per quanto descritto su ) non ci ha nemmeno chiesto se volessimo un dolce, un caffè, un digestivo. Nulla di nulla. Siamo stati lì in attesa che ci venisse chiesto/proposto qualcosa ma alla fine abbiamo deciso di andar via. La mia domanda sorge spontanea: come fanno a terminare quei dolci fatti in casa che ho visto nel frigo ( tiramisù ) se nessuno di loro si interessa di proporre un dolce alla clientela!? Detto ciò: locale troppo sopravvalutato per i miei gusti, unica cosa carina: la terrazza esterna. Per il resto è una pizzeria che non ha nulla di così eclatante, quando a pochi metri si trova un’altra pizzeria dove davvero puoi mangiarla senza sentirti...
