A big disappointment from a well reviewed restaurant.
A. A good point: the service was good and the food arrived quickly.
B. The wine was too warm, the room was too warm, the starter that we ordered arrived together with the main courses and caused a mess on the table and the salad was very poor (a tomato and some lettuce for a "mixed salad").
C. The fish stew dish was lacking a side dish to get eten with(it was a bowl of stew and nothing more).
D. My dish was a polenta with sardines: the fish was very dry and tasteless with a pile of fried-tasteless bread crumbs on (I need to ask for a piece of lemon for the rescue.. It wasn't too helpful). The polenta was okay but with no any sort of sauce on the plate was pretty dry and not interesting (and yes, with a pile of fried pointless bread crumbs on it).
The waiter was embarrassed from our criticism and could only offer us some limoncello as compassion. We've passed.
I'm giving two stars just for the waiters that have done their...
Read moreSame place as "Osteria Pane Vino" here on google!!! So sad! The starter, Gnocchi with Gorgonzola cheese was good. The second: mixed fish platter from the fisher boat (it said on the menu) was a farce. They served fried fish sticks, imported shrimps and other formerly frozen and cheaply imported sea creatures. The material was worth less than 2€ and they sold it for 11€. The side "salad" that came with it (for 3€) was ambitiounless cut lettuce with NOTHING else. Asking for oil and pepper they gave you packed oil and salt....When promoted to explain the difference between the menu and the plate the waiter pointed at the fine print of the menu where it said "may be frozen seafood". Yeah.....sad enough to have small print with asterisk on a menu....but would you expect Aldi fish sticks in an Italian restaurant? What a shame!!!! Where is the "minus 5 star" rating here? Such a...
Read moreSince my family lives in the neighborhood, we go there very often. The atmosphere is familiar and the setting is nice and tidy.
I can safely say I tried all the dishes in menu and they all hit the bank. Last time I tried Polenta with Ragù di Cinghiale and Ravioloni ripieni di Salmone and I thing these are my all time favourite dishes of this place. Price wise it is competitive, above all considering the restaurants in the zone, which are far more expensive.
Kudos to the owners and expecially to the husband who is also the cook. He has some gold hands.1 If you are in Somma Lombardo or if you pass by Malpensa, this is s greatly...
