Read moreAwful experience. My wife and I arrived at 6.20 and were told to leave and return in 10 minutes when they opened. Others were in there waiting for takeout but yet we had to wait outside on the mtr wide pavement of the busy main road. With hindsight we should have left then but we persevered and eventually got seated. Being offered a welcome drink of sparkling wine seemed a nice gesture, that is until we saw it on the bill at 2.50 each. Upon asking for a menu in English the waiter just said “no” and turned away. No pictures to help we had no idea what anything was, so I asked for the most popular pizza. No way it could be popular, a few slices of cured meat covered in some strange white substance, best bit was the dry crust. I applaud another English couple that upped and left because they too could not read the menu, we should have done the same. Knowing we could not read Italian they made no effort whatsoever to help and were totally unwelcoming. If they feel so hostile post Brexit they should have a sign outside saying “No dogs or English”. I would rather starve than give them my patronage again. Trust me, don’t for one moment believe the good...
Read moreExcellent menu, great tasting perch with arborio rice. Good pizza (mushroom with walnuts and two cheeses). Crust SO much better than in the U.S. Not thin and crispy nor thick and puffy, but perfectly in-between with a lovely chew on the edges, and a little bit of char. Not enough mushrooms (and maybe 4 or 5 walnut halvrs) but perhaps this is typical for Italian pizza? Sparing with ingredients? I don't know. Lovely aperatif, blood orange or arancia, gratis, and excellent. Incredibly tasty dessert - creme brulee filling in small, flaky cannoli (two), crusted on each end with (1) crushed walnuts and (2) crushed pistachios, with a smear of orange sauce and blueberry sauce. The filling was incredibly creamy and rich filling, and the flaky cannoli was crunchy and delicate. Tasty meal, very nice wait staff. We ate inside - could not get a table outside - all full (with a 2 hour wait!). We went early and many tables were already reserved. Best to make a reservation, especially...
