Ristorante Civico 39 — Restaurant in Sutri

What a missed opportunity! The restaurant is really nice with a slight touch of elegance - not very common in Sutri. Warm colours tone in tone and furnished with taste. Even the Christmas decoration is very nice - which is not always the case in Italy. The menu reads interesting, and the prices are higher than the average in the region - which could be justified if the food would match the expectations.

Unfortunately, it does not. The three different fish tartars came as a huge portion on a very nice plate - but completely unspiced: no salt, no pepper, no lemon, not even a drop of olive oil (very strange in Italy). The gamberetti had no taste at all and were waterish as if they had been unfrozen. The entire thing left us completely puzzled.

The Carbonara of smoked fish was a nice idea and a huge portion but again technically poorly done. The egg in the Carbonara got too hot and it became scrambled egg. Sorry, but these are basics! Moreover, it was covered with fried artichokes, which were not crunchy but soft and smelled and tasted old.

Salmon with salad and frutti secchi was a strange combination with a mayonnaise (definitely not homemade but just enriched by some capres - my goodness, making mayonnaise freshly from egg and oil is not rocket science) and sweet dried fruits like the "sports mix" in the supermarket. There was no culinariy idea or line.

The desert (meringa) was nice and well presented - as well as the Rhum in a beautiful glass with pieces of dark chocolate.

All this has style - if only the kitchen would match the standards the restaurant is striving for. In its current...

Merita le 5 stelle in ogni ambito! Le materie prime sono di grande qualità e lo chef cucina veramente bene. Il pesce è fresco ma anche i piatti a base di carne sono da leccarsi i baffi, provate il ragù di cervo! È un ristorante a conduzione familiare dove la cortesia ed il sorriso sono un must. Da fuori non sembra niente di particolare, ma l'interno è curato ed accogliente, chic ma non da intimidire. Provatelo perché ne rimarrete ampiamente...

Stavo cercando un ristorante per festeggiare 40 del mio compagno con 19 persone. guardando tra le foto del menù ho visto il video( del ristorante stesso) dell astice. Trovo orribile mettere il video di un animale legato che cerca di divincolarsi. ORRIBI !! MA COME VI VIENE IN MENTE!
