u' CARUSO pizzeria/trattoria-take away — Restaurant in Syracuse

Food was outright good. We all had pizzas and all were good. Also saw the people sitting inside with smiles on their faces.

Regarding service: in essence that QR code to order your food is a good idea but… it also results in the waiter not knowing who ordered what. That is not an experience I appreciate. Therefore 4/5 stars for that.

Then the atmosphere. We sat outside. Disadvantage of that is that one is sitting next to a quite busy street, with traffic that makes sometimes so much noise it is disrupting conversations. 4/5 stars for that reason. Maybe next time sit inside, like all the other guests were doing. That would definitely score a 5/5...

We wanted a quick, tasty, Sicilian meal after exploring the streets of Siracusa/ Ortigia all day. We struck gold with this restaurant/ takeaway choice 4 minutes walk from our accommodation. Lovely light pizza crust, delicious toppings. We bought two pizzas each the size of a large dinner plate. The owner offered a box to take out leftovers so we have lunch for tomorrow. Highly recommended. The owners speak English and the menu is also in English, a great help. Total cost €22...

Great family owned place. We came one night for pizza. We each ordered one and ended up taking most of it home. Fresh tasting ingredients, full of flavor. Today we had lasagna and pasta ragù, chicken filet, beer, wine, and dessert. All were very good. The cannolo was easily the best we have had during our two weeks in Sicily.
