Vintage Restaurant — Restaurant in Trapani

Came here for dinner, was not disappointed! The food was fantastic, as almost all food is in Sicily. I had a delicious swordfish pasta which really hit the spot.

The four stars for food is because the portion size of the starter (some delicious balls of seafood) was hilarious - 12 euros for 4 balls.

The staff were very busy catering for a large party indoors, and were clearly rushing around to cater to everyone in the restaurant, but they did well. The gent who served the wine and looked after us primarily was really kind, and spoke English well. The gent who took the order was also nice and remained relaxed when taking the order.

The four stars here is because we ordered extra potatoes, but they never arrived as the kitchen ran out - we only found out when we inquired after finishing our food and the potatoes were still listed on the bill. But, as it was the same cost as a shot of grappa (very tasty) we asked if we could have one of those as an exchange which was happily obliged

The accommodation recommended this restaurant. I really liked the vintage car. The place also has a nice vintage style, very cozy. Unfortunately, when we arrived, the waiter had no motivation to work. He seemed to be in a bad mood. He gave us an English menu but didn’t even bring the drink menu. He was dressed in casual street clothes, something we had never seen before. 😅 The menu had very few options. I ordered a mussel dish, but instead, I got Gnocchi alla Siciliana. At least my husband got what he ordered. The portions were small, but the food was tasty. It’s a shame that outside of the high season, we were welcomed like this and that I didn’t receive what I had ordered. That’s why I’m giving this rating. We came into town on an off hour and this was one of the few places in the area open, but that was no problem for us!

We all ordered several different dishes and we were all satisfied. The food was fresh and flavorful. We particularly enjoyed the swordfish with potato cream as well as the pasta with sardines.

We had Sicilian cannoli for dessert which were large and flavorful. It was a ricotta filling which still retained the flavor of the cheese while not being overly sweet. I would have liked the filling to be slightly sweeter and have an additional flavor, but that wasn't a deal breaker for me.
