Oltre bar — Restaurant in Trevignano Romano

BE CAREFUL THEY WILL TRY TO CHARGE YOUR BILL TWICE, or charge you for a handful of peanuts, which come, by the way, free everywhere in Italy when you grab a beer or any other drink. Yesterday, my partner and I, together with our three kids where having aperitivo in this scenic place. They arrived a bit earlier as I was shopping, and she left earlier with the youngest one. When I was up to pay and go I asked if any of the table had been paid previously. The waitress, a very young girl, to whom apparently hasn't been tought the value of honesty, said she would have gone inside at the cashier and check. I did the same and called my partner, who told me she had paid everything. I took an -aperitivo formula- beer by myself. So 8 euro. When the young and dishonest waitress came back she tried to charge me 22 euro. I made her notice she was wrong and she was somewhat surprised but cooperative (so, what did she go inside to check? she knew aaaall the way she was lying!). I mentioned, to refresh her short sighted brain, that I asked, with the first beer I had when I just arrived, a handful of peanuts. She picked the chance immediately and charged it without telling me on the card! I could read in her eyes she was thinking she was smart. And infact the final bill was 10 euro. Congratulations! You made 2 euro and got this beautiful review! And I'm Italian, we have a house here we do some vacations in. Imagine if you are a tourist...

Right in the middle of the lungolago di trevignano there's this nice welcoming bar where the locals take their time chit-chating, having a good cup of coffee, a quick bite of excellent cornetto or ciambella, and an occasional aperitivo. There, with the smiling people and the scenery of the swans and ducks, gently swimming in lake bracciano,...

Wir können die schlechten Bewertungen absolut verstehen und bestätigen. Nachdem wir über eine Stunde gesessen waren und konsumierten, machte uns der vorgeschickte junge Ober aufmerksam, dass ich mir ein T-Shirt anziehen müsse, da ich nur ein Bikini-Oberteil an hatte. Weder beim Bestellen, noch beim Bringen der Getränke und während der Zeit, die wir dort verbrachten, wurden wir auf diesen Umstand aufmerksam gemacht. Verwunderlich war auch, dass mein Mann beim Bezahlen eindringlich auf den bei der Bestellung genannten Preis beharren musste, da nunmehr plötzlich eine überhöhte Preisforderung im Raum stand. Mein Mann erklärte den jungen Ober dann, dass wir in dieser Bar das letzte Mal waren. Dies muss wohl die "Köchin" in Rage gebracht haben .... sie verfolgte uns bis an die Strasse laut schreiend und mit eindringlicher Mittelfinger Geste. Diese Situation dürfte wohl das Niveau der Oltre Bar ganz gut wiederspiegeln. Mit uns nie wieder! Schade um die jungen Kellnerinnen und Kellner, die mit solchen "Vorbildern"...
