We dined at Chiostro degli Scolopi a few days ago on recommendation by a local friend and had such a great experience that we returned a second time last night and this time we took some pictures. This restaurant used to be called Puerto Escondido and recently changed name and location. The ambiance is gorgeous with various small rooms and courtyards in an ancient building that used to be an old convent (hence the name and one of the rooms is a former chapel). The music was also lovely and added to the relaxing atmosphere. But the food is simply wonderful. Most of our party is vegetarians and therefore we avoided the steaks but there is much to choose from in the menu. Discovered by chance and ended up being the best restaurant me and my family tried this summer so far. Excellent typical cucina pugliese, that adds to a impressive and professional aged meat selections. The staff is wonderful and super professional, the type of persons that know exactly what they are doing. Atmosphere is beautiful and exactly my style, as it has a open air (pateo) atmosphere, perfect for summer nights but also interior rooms that have a wonderful atmosphere.
