Caffè Vatta — Restaurant in Trieste

Since I was asked... I have been here multiple times. As someone with celiac I essentially only take coffe most times. There are some gluten free options but they are really only good if one really needs something to eat, not really for a meaningful experience. That said, it's fine, noone should be forced to make crazy dietary arrangements as most people don't need them. A second weak point imo is the service, there are clear attempts at making a good impression, but everything is way too chaotic for my taste, almost like an Emergency Department, to the point that I feel self conscious ordering, or taking my time when picking the option I want. Perhaps that's what's needed to run a business, but it's not my cup of tea. I have been to other busy coffe places and they don't seem to run into each other that much. Not to mention, one morning an old waiter angrily, and loudly, scolded me an my brother for a misunderstanding with the order. It might not be the norm, but was definitely enough for me to not want to visit again. The lasts point is the least important, but I honestly do not appreciate all the issues when paying with debit card. Many young people don't really keep any cash on them anymore. I guess that is an extra reason why I wouldn't come back tbh

I do wish well to the staff and I hope the business keeps growing, but I believe reviews have to be honest, so...

The Ambiente is good. Opicina is beautiful so it adds to the scenery.

The service was alright. The staff seemed a little stressed.

The breakfast was not really tasty. The salmon in the English breakfast was smelly and didn’t seem fresh. The sausages to the American breakfast looked like they came straight from a lab and the pancakes were overall reaaaally sweet…

Overall not a bad experience but in Trieste you can get a much better breakfast for...

Buona sera, oggi ho fatto un aperitivo serale da voi, premetto che è il mio posto preferito per tanti motivi; abbiamo avuto il tavolo JOL1 appena seduta ho sentito il tavolo male odorante e con molta cortesia e quasi in difficoltà ho avvisato la cameriera cosi lei lo ha pulito nuovamente (premetto che il tavolo era stato già pulito da una cameriera con la coda), il mio compagno era in bagno e appena tornato ho spiegato quanto accaduto ma l odore strano lo sentiva pure lui. Abbiamo ordinato i nostri 2 select e di solito assieme ai drinks portano oltre che le patatine anche della focaccia o pizza, ma chissà perché agli altri tavoli e arrivato tutto ma a noi no nonostante la cameriera sia passata più volte servendo tutti i tavoli (ma non il nostro). Non è per i 4 pezzetti di pizza mancati ma per l atteggiamento della cameriera che dopo aver controllato che tutti gli altri abbiano tutto abbia snobbato il nostro tavolo, può darsi che sia stato una dimenticanza ma essendo attenta a tutto era piuttosto evidente che si trattasse un atteggiamento voluto sull appunto Dell odore del tavolo. Peccato per questi atteggiamenti che non appartengo sicuramente allo stile di Vatta, che cmq continuerò a frequentare. Grazie (due stelle solo per far sì che la mia...
