Osteria del Boccajolo — Restaurant in Umbertide

One of the very best places to eat in whole Italy. The osteria offers really fantastic dishes, first of all with truffles and porchini, but all the other menues tastes really fantastic either. We were really enthusiastic about eggs with truffles, eggplants parmigiana, tagliata con porchini and tagliatelle al ragu die chingiale. But even the sides are so good (which is not usual in italy), e.g. the insalata mista or potatoes. Ande every wine offer was really great. We ate there several times already and tasted red as well as white wines. Every glass was simply perfekt and tasted wonderful. Service always made very good recommendations concerning the wine and is always very friendly. They even immediatly brought water for our dog. We had an absolutely wonderful experience at this restaurant! The meat dishes were perfectly cooked and bursting with flavor — truly some of the best we’ve ever had. Ci siamo fermati con un gruppetto di amici appassionati di tartufo a pranzo ed è stata un'esperienza fantastica. La cameriera ci ha accolto calorosamente e ci ha dato consigli durante le nostre scelte. Abbiamo preso un antipasto del Boccajolo che è spettacolare. Le uova strapazzate al tartufo non hanno senso per quanto sono buone. Inoltre per completare abbiamo preso anche i funghi fritti, anch'essi davvero deliziosi. La pastella era ben fatta e fritta al punto giusto senza disperdere o coprire il sapore di fungo. Come primi abbiamo mangiato le tagliatelle al tartufo che onestamente credo mi sognerò per le prossime notti per quanto fossero buone e quanto tartufo c'era sopra. Abbiamo concluso con un dolce: il semifreddo al pistacchio consigliato dalla cameriera, che era veramente buono.

Abbiamo concluso con un liquore locale dolce a base di ciliegie (credo), che era davvero buono. Assomigliava come sapore al bargnolino piacentino, ma più delicato. Insomma: andava giù bene come si dice dalle mie parti.
