Ecoday Camping - Il Castagno — Restaurant in Unione dei comuni del Frignano

We stayed in Fanano for one week in June. We spent there our Family Holiday with our campervan and two little children. Due to off season, there were no other campers. :) We had the campsite exclusivly. We felt very welcome. ||The hospitality of Wiktor and Adriana was very obliging and Adriana is the best cook for Tortelloni. ||The restaurant "il castagno" offers tasty specialities of the italien cuisine. ||For the kids the campsite offers a huge playground and two trampolines. ||The sanitary area is small and a little bit old, but clean and completly sufficient.||||Next to the Campsite there is a nice path to Fanano. You can walk there easily with the kids. It takes app. 1/2 hour. You reach the river in 10 min. by foot. There´s a nice place to have a picnic or just enjoy the water and the nature. ||||We came to Fanano for biking and Wiktor offered us a private Shuttle to the best trails of Fanano. So the campsite is the perfect location to start your bike tours. ||||We highly recommend the Ecoday campsite and as well the region of Fanano to spent your holiday there. Reviews of the restaurant might differ from reviews of the camping; here I should like to give a holistic judgement. The location of this camping is beautiful, one feels immersed in the wilderness despite being really close to Fanano. The restaurant has an authentic mountain-mood, the camping is large and spacious. Ambiente accogliente già dall'esterno, I dettagli nei giardini e gli arredi all'ingresso ti fanno percepire cosa aspettarti. Cucina locale, ben eseguita e porzioni abbondanti. Per chi volesse optare per la pizza, trova anche quella. Noi siamo andati sul classico e abbiamo fatto centro. Un bel piatto di tagliatelle al ragù, tortelloni ai funghi porcini e polenta hanno scandito I primi. A seguire uno spezzatino con carni miste e crescentine, una cotoletta e di contorno verdure grigliate e patate al forno. Il tutto servito con un servizio gioviale, veloce e conviviale. Il rapporto qualità prezzo è buono. Lo consiglio.

A welcoming environment already from the outside. The fine details in the gardens and the furnishings at the entrance, make you understand what to expect. Local cuisine, well executed and generous portions. For those who want to opt for a pizza, it's also available. We went classic and hit the spot. A nice plate of tagliatelle with meat sauce, tortelloni with porcini mushrooms and polenta nailed the first courses.
