I’m Greek but permanently live in Italy and thought it would be great to visit a Greek restaurant with my family. When we arrived the restaurant was completely empty. We were placed at a table on the pavement, next to parked cars. My 2 year old wanted to sit between my husband and I, so we just grabbed a chair from the table next to us and put it between us. The server immediately came to us and told us that if someone shows up and wants to sit down we need to put the chair back. We thought: but of course, but a bit of a weird thing to say when we are literally the only customers. Time passes by, we eat, and eventually my toddler and husband go to the toilet. At this point the server comes to me and says: ok, i’ll take back the chair now if that’s ok. And proceeds to take the chair away. Meanwhile there were still no other customers around! I don’t understand this behaviour at all. It made us very uncomfortable and we felt pressured to leave for no reason whatsoever. This place is not child friendly and not accommodating. When it comes to food, we ordered a €13 gyros option that’s supposed to include salad etc. The portion was small and the “salad” was one slice of tomato, 1 slice of pepper etc. Small portions and expensive for what they are, but flavour wise, everything was ok.
Update to respond: How am I hiding behind a keyboard while I'm leaving you a review here with my name and I described exactly who I am? This is ridiculous. We weren't many. We were 3 adults and a toddler. We arrived there at 18:00 and were gone by 7 so what you are saying is completeley false. Also, no one ever informed us about "booked tables" and when we left the place was still completely empty. There was only a couple arriving while we were leaving. Also, your aggressive response, full of inaccuracies and "friendly advice" shows how you treat your customers. I don't even need to say anything. Finally, I am Greek myself and any Greek would say exactly what I said about your sizes and portions. You are obviously unable to receive criticism. It's a shame. P.S. There was no Greek person in sight in your "strictly Greek" restaurant. I'm not going to continue this ridiculous back and forth. 3 stars are now 1 after this aggresive response...
Read moreI can’t but give 5 starts to this place. Mostly because of the service, the waiters were all super friendly, representing real Greek hospitality. I only feel sad for them because of an unfortunate event that occurred with our dog and another Caren customer. Yet they were very professional and helpful.
Food was very tasty and original. Only minus, I think portions...
