We were welcomed warmly and encouraged into the restaurant and then dumped at a table and left for ages while they tempted others in. Ours was the only table without bread and we didn't get any for a long time. At the end we were charged for the bread and still water that were offered to us! Two other tables , not English people, had their orders taken and food served before we were even spoken to. I was told I couldn't have risotto because at least two people had to order it and then offered the catch of the day, sea bream. This was very nice but when it came, it was prepared in front of us and placed on two plates but still had several bones left in it. The spaghetti Bolognese was dry and average. We have had wonderful food in Venice (please see my other review). We were charged €40 for the sea bream which was spoilt into two meals even though we had made it clear it was only me eating this fish. Of course, as Brits, we smile and don't make a fuss but I'm warning other British people to steer clear. The staff were dismissive and made us feel uncomfortable from the moment we sat down - they didn't even say goodbye when I did. I think it was because we were on a boat tour and didn't have enough time for starters, desserts, coffee, etc so they didn't care about us. This is why I'm writing this review. Read moreI recently dined at a charming family-run restaurant that left me thoroughly impressed. From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed by the warm and friendly atmosphere. The standout feature of the place was their homemade pasta, a testament to their dedication to quality. The lasagne, also homemade, was a delightful indulgence.
What truly set this restaurant apart was the personal touch they added to the dining experience. The family took the time to explain each dish with passion and provided exceptional recommendations, making me feel like part of their culinary journey. Their willingness to offer suggestions when I was unsure was a highlight.
The commitment to freshness was evident in their seafood selection, which was carefully chosen each morning. This attention to detail translated into dishes bursting with flavors that I won't soon forget. And to top off the meal, the homemade tiramisu made by the mum was a heavenly treat that perfectly capped off the dining experience.
A visit to Burano would be incomplete without stopping by this restaurant. The combination of authentic flavors, personal service, and a touch of family warmth created a dining experience beyond excellence.

Read moreThis was our 2nd choice when we were visiting Burano. I am so glad our 1st choice was full and we waited for our table here. As soon as you step in, you will see it is a family run restaurant. The daughter with a new born baby was there helping out as it was busy and it's evident she was not meant to work there because she wasn't even in uniform. Everyone took turns to entertain the baby when she had woken up from her sleep. Sweet little scenes.
When we got our table after a good 15 to 20mins, I was presented with a menu with 9 languages.... wow! I know!
Food was superb and we enjoyed every bite. Only downside from my bf is he felt there wasn't enough spaghetti and it was gone in '5 bites' though he said he was glad to have a decent portion of clams in his pasta. Can't have it both ways is what I've say. Lol.
One downer that I want to add but not deduct their stars is when I first approached the restaurant for a table, I felt I was judged based on my race appearance. Not that I can blame her because a large portion of the people of my heritage can be ill behaved but all of that changed when we waited patiently, be well-mannered and just have the general etiquette of a...
